Meeting of Salary Board having to do with salaries of employees in
the office of the County Commissioners met .in the office of -the County -Commissioners
on Tuesday, April 29 , 19240 the following members being present; County .Commis-
sioners Johnston, Walker and Barnes; County Controller Underwood,
Motion by Mr. Walker, seconded by Mr. Barnes that the salary, of
Earl Amos, employed as a clerk in the' office of the County Commissioners, be
fixed at $125.00 per month, beginning with April 1, 1924. Motion carried,
There being no further business before the Board, it stdod adjourned.-

Motion by Mr, Barnes, seconded by Mr. Walker,, that the contweet for
construction of McMurray Road, #4, be .let to Hardy & Rankin, Canonsburg, at their
bid of $74486.85. Carried.
Motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by fir. Walker, that the contract for
construction of McClane Bridge-Meadowlands Road be let to W. K. Reed & Co, :
Waynesburg, st their bid of $45474.60.. Carried.
Motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Walker, that the contract for
construction of Houston-McConnellts Mills Road be let to W. K. Reed & CIO* #*
Waynesburg, at their bid of $52667-50.

Motion by Mr. Barnes , seconded by Mr. Walker, that the contract for

construction of Hill Church-McMurray Road be let to John Herd, at his bid—of
$83509.60, this being the second lowest *bid submitted for this road, but the lowest
bidders., Messrs. Hardy & Rankin, already having heavy contracts with the county
and other work under construction, is not deemed to. be' in position to c*Vlete this
contract during the coming summer, hence the reason for awarding contraot, to Jobe
Herd, next lowest bidder, as above set forth. Motion carried.

Motion by Mr. Walker, seconded by Mr. Barnes , that the contract for con-
struction of Gastonville-Elrama Road be let to Thomas Arrigo at' the revised price, V

or sum of $56235.25 Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Walker, seconded by Mr. Barnes, that the tousty of Washington,
contribute the sum of $16,060 from current funds towards improvement of highway
in Cross Creek Township, beginning at the Mt. Pleasant Township line and ex-
tending westwardly to McClane' s Bridge, provided that the surveys, plans and
specifications shall be prepared or approved by the State Highway Department and
the construction work done under its supervision. Motion carried,
