BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA

Washington, Pa. , January 4, 1926.
The Board of County Commissioners met in the office of the County
Commissioners in the Court house , Washington, Pa. , on Monday. January 4, 1926,
for organization, the following members being present; County Commissioners
J. E. Johnston, J. W. Walker .and W. A. Barnes ; Mr. Johnston acting as temporatr
ary chairman; Motion by Mr. Walker, seconded by Mr. Barnes , that the Board
organize for the ensuing year by the reelection of the former officers , to-wit,
Mr. Johnston, President, Mr. Barnes , Secretary. Motion carried and officers
duly notified of their election.

Motion b y Mr. Barnes , seconded by' Mr Walker, that all employees
in the office of the County Commissioners be retained for the ensuing year,
with proviso that upon 30 days motioe any employee might be retired. motion
carried.
Notion by Mr. Walker, seconded by Mr. Barnes , that all other employees
of the County of Washington, coming under the Juvisdiciton of the County
Commissiohers , to-wit, County Engineer and employees of that department,,
engineer McCormick and assistant engineer McNary, of county buildings; super-
intendent of court house and assistants , including helpers and those employed
in the cleaning of offices , etc. ; the employees of detention room and at
county garage , night watchmanvat court house, etc. , be retained for the on-
suing year, save im the case of Mr. Ward, employed as helper to engineer of
county buildings, who shall be 'retained for such period as his services
may be deemed actually necessary, with proviso that upon 3Q days notice any
employee of the County of Washington might be retired. Motion carried. There
being no further busines.s before the meetings it was addourned.

The Salary Board having to do with salaries of employees under the
Jurisdietton of the Uounty Commissioners met in the office of the County
Commissioners , Court Houser on Monday, January 4, 1926, at 2 P. M. , fol-
lowing members being present; County Commissioners Johnston, Walker and
Barnes and `county Controller Underwood;
Motion by Mr. Walker, seconded by Mr. Barnes , that salaries of all
employees of the County of Washington, coming within the jurisdiction of the
County Commissioners (all of former employees having been re-appointed at
meeting of County Commissioners held earlier) remain the same for the yea,6r
1926 as they had been during the year 1925, with the proviso that hereafter
no allQwance be granted for payment for meals by the County for employees of
County Engineer's Department , or other departments , saves in cases of emer-
