Commissioners in regular session, members present being Messrs .
Johnston and Barnes ; Mr. Walker having notice of meeting, but absent;
adopted:-- The following Resolution was duly presented and unanimously
WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary to supply new mortgage Index Books ii
and for the office of Recorder of Deeds, this action having been passed upon
by Bar Association, through its proper officers and approved by the Hon. James I.
Brownson, President Judge, and
WHEREAS, the Russell Index Company, Pittsburgh, Pa. , has submitted
a proposal to furnish the required books at a pricy of $55. 00 per volume, there
being a total of 50 volumes required and which said proposal has been ap-
proved by the Hon. James I. Brownson, his said approval having been accepted at a
meeting held some time since , at which said meeting tfte County Commissioners
and County Controller were present, now,
BE IT RESOLVED, that the County Commissioners place an order
with the Aussell Index Company, at once, for the said mortgage ,Books , to be
delivered on or before Januaryl, 1926, in accordance with proposal of said
Company, submitted on December 8, 1925, as follows ;--- "These books to be
50 in number, 25 I-ortgagor and 25 Mortgages , on the Russell IL-M-N-R-T Plan,
(table 426) , made- of Byron Weston's Linen Ledger Paper #36, loose-leaf, bound
in flesherette with Russia ends and bands , canvas-jacketed with leather cor-
ners and ruled as may be determined by yourself and the Index Committee of the
Washington County Bar. These books to be first class in material and workman-
ship in every particular"

The Salary Board having to do with matter of salaries in and
for the office of the CountyController met in the office of the County
Commissioners on December 91, 1925, at 2 P. M. , the following members being
present :- County Commissioners Johnston, Walker and Barnes and County Controller
Underwood; Mr. Johnston, Chariman of the Board, in the chair-, Motion by Mr.
Underwood, seconded by Mr. Walker, that Robert L. Taylor be appointed to then

position of clerk in the office of the County Controller to suceeedClyde R.
Segner .and that the said .Robert L. Taylor shall be paid the sum of -'$130
in full for services for the month of December, 1925 and that his same
be placed an the monthly payroll for said month of December, 1925,,tldt-the

There being no further business before the Board, it was adjourned.

Motion by Mr. Walker, seconded by Mr. Barnes, that County Treamurer
be directed to transfer, with approval of County Controller, the sum of
$75,600 from the Road Fund of the County of Washington, to the General Fund
thereof; ftr the purpose of meeting current expenses of the County. Motion
unanimously carried.
