Washington, Pa. , February 12, 1926.
Commissioners in regular session , members present being Messrs .
Johnston, Walker and Barnes .
The establishing of a 6inking Fund to take care of Bonds and interest
having been previously discussed, Mr. Barnes again brought the matter before
the board and urged that as a matter of good business and future benefit there
r
should be set aside as a Sinking 11und a one-half (1) mill tax levy this year,

which, when increased to one (1) mill next year would, if kept intact as to
"incipal and interest, taking into consideration the average anticipated in-
crease in property valuations each year, .make a sum equal to our entire present
indebtedness of $3,401,000 in some fourteen to fifteen years time . Due to
the fact that there is considerable demand this year for additional mileage of
improved roads and the wishes of the Board not to increase taxes at this. time,
the suggestion of Mr. Barnes was , upon motion by Mr. Walker, seconded by Mr .
Johnston, and duly carried, held over for future consideration.
Motion by Mr. Walker, seconded by Mr. Barnes , that for the purpose
of raising sufficient revenue , or income , to meet expenses of the county of
Washington for and during theyear 1926, the rate of taxation for County Pur-
poses on. the taxable property held and owned in the Uounty, be fixed at seven and
one-half (71) mills , this being the same rate as for the pas ' year, Motion
