BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA

($350000.00) Dollars of bonds , when duly prepared, signed and sealed in tr-
the. form above set forth, shall be delivered to the purchasers thereof, as
hereinabove provided, on payment of the purchase ,price thereof, and the re-
ceipt of the Treasurer of the sail County shall be to the purchaser a full
acquittance for the said purchase price, and the said purchasers shall not be
bound to see to the application of the proceeds thereof.

The 'Board of County Commissioners met in the office of the County
Commissioners , in the Court House , Washington, Pa* , on Monday, January 3, 1927,
for organization, the following members being present; Jo Xj Johnston, J. W.
Walker and W. A. Barnes .
Mr. Johnston acting as temporary chairman of meeting.
emotion by Mr. Walker, seconded by Mr. Barnes , that the Board organize :bur
the ensuing year by the re-election of the old officers , to-wit, J. E.
Johnston, President and W. A. Barnes , Secretary. Motion carried and officers
elected duly notified of their election.
President Johnston in the chair.
Motion by Mr. Barnes , seconded by Mr. Walker, that all- employees in the
office of the County Commissioners , with the exception of the County Solicitor,
be retained for the ensuing year, with the proviso that upon thir,ty($30)
days notice any employee might be retired. Motion carried.
�Otlon by Mr. Walker, seconded by Mr. Barnes , that all other employees
of the County of Washington, coming under the jurisdiction of the County
Coimissioners , including the County Engineer and employees of that department,
Engineer of Court House, Jail and Grounds and assistants , Superintendent
of Court House and assistants , including helpers and those employed in clean-
ing of building, etc. employees at county Detentiosi Aooms and at County
Garage , be retained for the ensuing year, with the proviso that upon thirty
(3,10) days notice any such employee might be retired. Motion carried.
There biting no other business before the -board at this time, the meeting
was adjourned.,

The Salary Board, having to do with salaries of employees in
the office of the Prothonotary, met in the office of the County Commissioners,
Court house-, 1,11ashington, Pa. , Monday, January 3, 1927, at 11:50 A. M. , memberte
present being County Commissioners Johnston, Walker and Barnes , County Controller
Underwood and. Prothonotary, H E Pollock,
otion by Mr. �'ollock, seconded by Mr. Walker, that the employees
in the office of the Prothonotary be retained for the ensuing year and that the
salaries of said employees remain as heretofore. lotion carried.
The Salary Board having to do with salaries in the office of the
Clerk of `ourts met in the office of the county Uommissioners , Court House,
Washington, Pa. , Monday, January 3, 1927, at 12M. , members present being County
commissioners Johnston, Walker and Barnes , County Controller Underwood and Clerk
of Uourts , E. G. McGregor;
Motion by Mr. McGregor, seconded by Mr. Underwood, that the em-
ployees in the office of the Clerk of 'ourts be retained for the ensuing year,
on same basis as heretofore, and at same salary rates. Motion carried. There
being no further business , the Board adjonnned.

the Register of Wills and Glerk of the Orphans' Court, met in the office of the
County Commissioners , Court House, Washington, Pa. , Monday, January 3, 1927, at
12 :10 M. , members present being County Commissioners Johnston, Walker and
Barnes , County- Controller Underwood and Register John Aiken;
Motion by Mr. Aiken, seconded by Mr. Barnes , that all employees
in the office of Register of Wills and Clerk of the Orphans ' Court be retained
for the ensuing year, at same salaries as heretofore. Motion carried. There
being nohXurther business , the Board adjourned.

Recorder of Deeds met in the office of the County Commissioners , Court liouse,
Washington, Pa. , Monday, January 3, 1927, at 3 P- M. , members present being
County Commissioners Johnston, Walker and Barnes , County Controller-Underwood
and Recorder F R Baker;
Motion by Mr. Underwood, seconded by Mr. Walker, that all em-
ployees in the office of Recorder of Deeds be retained for the ensuing year,
at same salaries as heretifore . question called for; Voting " Aye ", Messrs.
Underwood, Johnston, Walker, Barnes ; Voting "No" , Mr. Baker. Motion carried.

office of the Joroner, met in the office of the County Commissioners ,
Court House, Washington, Pa. , Monday, January 3 , 1927, at 3 :30 P. M. , Mem-
bers present being County Commissioners Johnston, Walker and Barnes , County
Controller, Underwood and Coroner 3m. Greenlee ;
i Motion by Mr. Greenlee, seconded by Mr. Walker, that the one
employee in the office of the coroner be retained for the ensuing year, at same
salary as heretofore. Motion carried.

in the of the District Attorney met in the office of the -l'ounty Commissioners ,
Court House , Washington, Pa. , Monday, January 3, 1927, at 3 :35 P M. , members
present being County Commissioners Johnston, Walker and Barnes , County
Controller Underwood and District Attorney H. W. Hughes ;
Motion by Mr. Hughes , seconded by Mr. Walker, that the stenog-
rapher employed in the office of the District Attorney be retained, for the
ensuing year, at same salary as heretofore. lotion carried. There being no
further business before the Board, it was adjourned.

Clark, Esq. , be elected County Solicitor to succeed Andrew M. Linn, Esq. ,
former County Solicitor, whose resignation has been received and accepted,
and that Adolph Zertan, Esq. , be elected as assistant County Solicitor, to
handle all cases arising from condemnation proceedings and damage sui&o

Highway Department, or the County of Washington, - in the way of attending all
hearings before Viewers and the preparation of all such cases before Court;
Mr. Clark to receive a salary of $1800 per annum.� and Mr. Zeman to receive a
salary of 575-00 per month. Motion carried.
'here being no further business before the Board, the meeting was
adjourned.

The following Resolution was duly presented, seconded and unani-
mously adopted;
RESOLVED: That Andrew -M. Linn, Esq. , be and he is hereby es-
pecially engaged ans employed to act as attorney for and represent the County
of Washington in the case of J E Masters versus the County of Washington$
being an appeal from report of County Controller {Norman E. Clark, Esq. ,'
having been elected County Solicitor and having heretofore been counsel for J 3
Masters and having withdrawn drom said case ) , and also to assist the County
Solicitor in the case of the County of Washington versus T. J. Underwood.

Avella-Manchester, section of Township Road from Northern and of
Countib Road to State Aid Route No. 545.
