BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA
J ELMER JOHNSTON, JAMES W WALKER, W H ECKER, COMMISSIONERS
Commissioners shall improve the said described section of road in accordance
with the surveys and plans therefor, which have been prepared by the County
Road engineers and in accordance with the provisions of the Act of Assembly
aforesaid and its supplements.
The foregoing is a true copy of a resolution adopted by the County
Commissioners of Washington County on the 14th day of January, 1927-

Resolved by the County Commissioners of Washington County, Pennsylvania,
that they deem it expedientto improve, under the provisiins of the Act of
Assembly of said Commonwealth, approved May 11, 1911, P. L. 244, and its
amendments and supplements , the following described section of one of the
main roads or highways within said County, to--qit :
A section of the road known as the ".anonsburg-Bishop road, leading from
Canonsburg to Bishop, beginning at a point on the James White farm where
said road leaves the Canonsburg-Venice improved road and extending towards for
a distance of feet, more or less , Said section of road being in Cecil
Township.
That an application for the approval of such improvement be presented
to the court of ',,uarter Sessions of said County and-that upon- the approval
of such application by the Grand Jury and Court, the County Commissioners
shall improve the said described section of road in accordance with
the surveys and plans therefor, which have been prepared by the county Road
Engineers and in a�;cordance with the provisions of the Act of Assembly afore-
said and its supplements .
The foregoing is a true copy of a resolution adopted by the- County
Commissioners of Washington County on the 14th day of January, 1927..

The following resolution was duly presented, secftded and gnimously
adopted;--
WBEREAS, it is deemed advisable and expedient to replace the Statue

of- George Washington on the Court House Dome, the said Statue having been
destroyed some years since and numerous civic organizations , and other tax-
payers have importuntd this -board to replace same , now, therefore ,
BE IT RESOLVED; that F. J. Osterling, the architect who designed and
supervised the construction of the present Court House , be employed to prepare
the necessary drawings , specifications , contracts , etc . , supervise the work,
issue the necessary certificates , for the placing of cast Bronze 3tatue
of George 1,11ashington on the present dome of the Court House , a duplicate of
the original terra cotta statue, all to be done to the entire satisfaction
of this Board, the said F. J. Osterling to receive for his services a fee
babed upon ten(10) per cent of the total costs of the work, to be paid upon
completion and acceptance.

1-otion by Mr. Walker, seconded by Mr. Barnes , that County Controller
be directed to advertise for printing binding and delivery of 1927 tax
receipt forms , to be in 50 books , containing 680000 original and 68,000
duplicate receipt forms , 12 receipts to page ; also 78 delinquent tax books
containing 17,000 pages ; also , 35000 delinquent tax receipt forms , 100 to
book. Specifications to be seen at office of County Commissioners .
i-otion carried.
Motion by Mr. Barnes , seconded by Mr. Walker, that County Controller
be directed to advertise for printing and delivery of 350 Road Improvement
Bonds of the County of Washington, bonds in denomination of $1000 each,
aerial, coupon bonds . Maturity dates and other information at office of
County Commissioners. Motion carried.
