ELMER JOHNSTON, JAMES W.WALKER, W.A.BARNES, COMMISSIONERS OFFICE OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, May 17, 1927, Washington, Pa. Commissioners in regular session, members present being Messrs. Johnston, Walker and -Barnes. The following resolutions were duly presented, seconded and adopted. WHEREAS, there has been presented tows a petition from the super- visors of Robinson Township, representing that a section of the highway in said township, being about 5280 feet in length and situated as' follows : BEGINNING at Allegheny County line and wnding near Robinson School House known as -Burgettatown-Imperial Road, is in need of improvemeht and sets forth that said township desires to take advantage of the provisions of the Act approved June 12, 1919, and amended by Act approved March 10, 1921, permitting Counties of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to appropriate and expend monies for the improvement and maintenance of the State Highway and State-Aid Highway or any public highway in the counties of the Commonwealth etc. , therefore BE IT RESOLVED, that we the said Commissioners of Washington County in regular session assembled on this 17th day of May, 1927 agree on behalf of said county to contribute $2000 from current revenues towards the improvement of the highway specified in the application of the township of Robinson above recited provided the survey, plans and specifications for said improvement shall be prepared or approved by the department of Highways and work done under its supervision. May 17# 1927. Commissioners in regular session, members present being Messrs. Johnston, Walker and Barnes. The following resolutions were duly presented, seconded and adopted. AREAS, there has been presented to us a petition from the supervisors of East Finley Township,, representing that a section of the highway in said township, being about one mile in length and situated as follows : BEGINNING at the end of the improved section of Stony Point road and extending towards East Finley, is in need of improvement and sets forth that said township desires to take advantage of the provisions of the Act approved June 12, 1919, and amended by Act approved March 10, 1921, permitting Counties of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to appropriate and expend monies for the improvement and maintenance of the State Highway and State-Aid Highway or any public highway in the counties of the Qommonwealth eta. , therefore BE IT RESOLVED, that we the said Commissioners of Washington County ii; regular session assembled on this 17th day of May, 1927 agree on behalf of said 522 f) MINUTE BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA J.ELMER JOHNSTON, JAMES W.WALKER, W.A.BARNES, COMMISSIONERS said township desires to take advantage of the provisions of the Act ap- proved Tune 12, 1919, and amended by Act approved March 10, 1921, permitting Counties of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to appropriate and expend monies for the improvement and maintenance of the state highway and State-Aid high- way or any public highway in the counties of the Commonwealth etc. , therefore BE IT RESOLVED, that we the said Commissioners of Washington County in regular session assembled on this 17th day of May, 1927 agree on behalf of said county to contribute $5000 per mile from current revenues towards the improvement of the highway specified in the application of the township of Robinson above recited provided the survey, plans and specifications for said improvement shall be prepared or approved by the department of Highways and work done under its supervision. WHEREAS, there has been presented to us a petition from the supervisors of SMITH TOWNSHIP, representing that a section of the highway in said township, being about 5280 feet in length and situated as follows : BEGINNING OLT VM Borough line of Burgettstown and extending westwardly towards Dinsmore , is in need of improvement and sets forth that said township desires to take advantage of the provisions of the Act ap- proved June 12, 1919, and amended by Act approved March 19) 1921, permitting Counties of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to appropriate and expend monies for the improvement and maintenance of the state highway and State-Aid Highway or any public highway in the counties of the Commonwealth etc. , there- fore BE IT RESOLVED, that we the said Commissioners of Washington County in regular session assembled on this 17th day of May, 1927 agree on behalf of said county to contribute $5000.00 from current revenues towards the improvement of the highway specified in the application of the township of Smith above recited provided the survey, plans and specifications for said improvement shall be prepared or approved by the department of Highways and work done under its supervision. WH M AS, there has beep presented to us a petition from the supervisors of MORRIS Township, representing that a section of the high- way in said township, being about 10560 feet in length and situated as follo)ws; BEGINNIFS It the Prosperity-Claysville road near the residence of H. B., Grimes and extending West 2 miles , is in need of improvement and sets forth that said township desires to take advantage of the provisions (rf the Act approved June 12, 1919, and amended by Act approved March 10, 1921, permitting Counties of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to appropriate and expend monies for the improvement and maintenance of the state highway and State-aid Highway or any public in the counties of the Commonwealth etc. , therefore BE IT RESOLVED, that we the said Commissioners of Washington County in regular session assembled on this 17th day of May, 1927 agree on behalf of said county to contribute $5000 per mile from current revenues towards the improvement of the highway specified in the application of the township of Morris above recited provided the survey, plans and specifications for said improvement shall be prepared or approved by the department of Highways and work done under its supervision. WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Commissioners of the CommissLoters of the County of Washington to accept the provisions of the Act of July 1, 1919, P. L. 893, and the amendments thereto approved the 7th day of May, 1921, being Act No. 433, also the amendment of May 22, 1923, being Act No. 200, commonly known as the Mothers ' Assistance Act, and to make same effec qqi - tive in county, and to appropriate from the funds of the County of Washingtin, for the purpose of carrying said Act into effeett a sum of money equal to the amount apportioned to the Oounty of Washington from the appropriation made by the Legislature, as per Act approved April 13, 1927, No. 9A. , and WHEREAS it has been ascertained by the County Commissioners that the amount of such apportionment to Washington County under said Act for the period commencing June 1, 1927 and ending May 311 1929, is $44#037-50, now, 522W MINUTE BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA i J. ELMER JOHNSTON, JAMES W.WALKER, W.A.BARNES, COMMISSIONERS I therefore, BE IT RESOLVLD, that a eke sum, to-wit, the sum of 44#037.50 be and the same is hereby appropriated from the general funds of the County of Washington to the Trustees of the Mothers ' Assistance Fund of said County, to be disbursed by the said Trustees in accordance with the provisions of the Acts aforesaid. Motion by lbs. Barnes , seconded by Mr. Walker, that the County Treasurer be directed to transfer, with approval of the County Controller, the sum of One Hundred Thousand ($100,000 ) Dollars from the Road Funds of the County of Washington to the General Fund of said County, for the purpose of meeting current expenses of the said County of" Washington.
