The following resolution was duly presented and adopted:-
WHEREAS, It is provided by Act of Assembly approved May 31, 1911, P. L.
468, that the Secretary of ilighways , with respect to any State-aid Highway
contract, shall certify to the State Treasurer and to the officials of the
respective county, township, or boroughconcerned therewith, from time to time
during the .performance of the work, any sum or sums from said county, town 11

ship or borough on the cost of such improvements and
WHEREAS, The County of Washington has applied for the aid and coopera-
tion of the State in the reconstruction or improvement of a certain section
of public road, lying within the Township of North Strabane as a State-aid
'Highway$ in accordance with the provisions of the Act of May 31, 1911, P. L.
468, said road being situated as follows :
From a point at the intersection of Route
108 with township road at Hills Church, 4.8
miles southwest of Canonsburg, opposite
property of the Chartiers Coal Company, at
Station 0-75 to a point near the intersec-
tion with township road to Canonsburg 1.5
miles southeast of Canonsburg opposite
property of John D and William B McClelland
at Station 107 50, Application No. 4274. ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the said County of Washington
pay to the State Treasurer its proportionate share of the cost of such im-
provement, to wit : fifty (50) per centum thereof, within ten (10) days after
receipt from time to time during the performance of the work of certifications
from the Secretary of Highways showing the amount of work performed and the
material furnished by the contractor having said contract in charge, and
that the Commissioners of said County, or a magority of them, be authorized
to enter into an agreement with the Secretary of Highways on behalf of the
Coirmonwealth providing for such improvement in the manner afoiesaid*'

The following Resolution was duly presented, seconded and adopted:-
WHERHJS, the Borough of Twilight, through its duly constituted
officials , is desirous of improving that section, pr part* of the Speers-
Twilight Road that lies within the borders bf the Borough and has asked for
County aid in the matter of its construction, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That the County of Washington hereby agrees to join
the said Borough of Twilight*,�,on the bOis of a 50-50 division of the cost

construction, sixteen (16) feet in width and to be fully completed during the
fall season of the year 1928.

The following Resolution, was duly presented, seconded and
adopted :-
".MiRRAS , the 3orough of, bpeers , through its duly constituted
Officials , is desirous of improving that section or part of the Speers-
Twilight Road that lies within the borders of the Borough, and has asked for
County Aid in the matter of its construction, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That the County of Washington hereby agrees
to join the said Borough of opeers in the construction of the said highway
within the Borough of 6peers , on the basis of a 50-50 division of the cost
thereof, it being understood, that the said roadway is to be of concrete con-
struction, sixteen (16 ) feet in width and to be fully completed during the
fall season of the year 1928- -------------

WMEAS, there has been presented to the County Commissioners
a petition from the Supervisors of Somerset Twp representing that section
of the Pigeon Creek Road beginning at the H. A. Preston farm and extending
to E. Crouch farm, a distance of one mile more or less , is in need of im-
provement .
2b it Resolved, that county aid in- improvement of said road
be given by the eountym under provision of the Act of June 12, 1919, as
amended, and that the sum of $2500. 00 be said to said Township in accordance
with the requirements of said Act and
Be it Further Resolved:
That a section of road in said township, also set forth by
petition of the supervisors as needing improvement, and beginning at
Independence S House and extending to Chas . Lusk farm a distance of one

more or less , receive aid from the 1,ounty in the sum of $2500.00 per mile
thereof, which said Bum is hereby appropriated.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, 1hat a section of the Vanceville-
Ellsworth Road in said township, also set forth- in petition of the Supervisors
as needing improvement, for a distance of one mile, more or less , receive aid
from the county in the sum of $2500.00 per mile, Vhereof, which said sum is
hereby appropriated.
There being no further business before the 3oard, it adjourned.
