HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOMM - Meeting Minutes - - 9-26-1927 - COMMISSIONER MINUTE BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA J.ELMER JOHNSTON, JAMES W.WALKER, W.A.BARNES, COMMISSIONERS of Washington agrees to contribute the sum of $3000-00 from current funds towards said improvement, in accordance with the provisions of the Acts of Assembly in such case made and provided, and WHEREAS, the said Supervisors of Blaine Township have further petitioned the County Commissioners , repre- senting that a section of road in said Township of Blaine, known as the Tay- lorstown-Bruch Run Road, a distance of one mile, is in need of improvement and asking County aid under the provisions of the Acts of Assembly in such case made and provided, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County of 'Washington agrees to contribute the sum of $2500.00 from current funds towards said im- provement, in accordance with the provisions of the Acts of Assembly in such case made and provided. There being no further business before the meeting, the Board adjourned. (SIGNED) COUNTY COMMISSIONERS. Motion by Mr. Johnston, seconded by Mr. Barnes , that County Controller be requested to advertise for bids for printing and delivering to office of County Commissioners * approximately 80,000 official ballots and 15,000 specimen ballots for use at 1hunicipal Election to be held on November 8, 1927, specifi- cations for ballots to be seen at office of County Commissioners , Motion carried* WHEREAS, A petition has been presented by the Supervisors of Mt. Pleasant- Township, representing that a section of highway in said township, beginning at 'Jounty brook road in Westland and extending northwardly a dis- tance of one mile, is in need of improvement and asking for County aid in its improvement, under the provisions of the Acts of Assembly in such case made and provided, now, therefore , BE IT RESOLVED, that the County of Washington agrees to contribute the sum of $5000 from current funds towards said improve- ment which is to be of 1'ater bound macadam; fifteen (15) feet wide, in ac- cordance with the provisions of the Acts of Assembly in such case made .and provided. ----------- i I i MINUTE BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA J.ELMER JOHNSTON, JAMES W.WALKER, W.A.BARNES, COMMISSIONERS IffHERZAS, a petition has been presented by the supervisors of Hopewell Township, representing that a section of highway in said township, known as the Buffalo-Acheson road, beginning one-half mile from State Highway Route No. 242, j I and extending South one mile to road intersection at Rush Heirs farm,is in I need of improvement and asking for County aid in its improvement under the pro- I visions of the Acts of Assembly in such case made and provided, now, therefore , BE IT RESOLVED, that the County of Washington agrees to contribute the sum of 2500.00 from current funds towards said improvement, in accordance with the provisions of the Acts of Assembly in such case made and provided. WHEREAS a petition has been presented by the supervisors of Peters Township, representing that a section of highway in said township, beginning at the intersection of the Bower Dill and Venetia Road on the South and ex- tending North to the intersection of South Road, near residence of James Haany, a distance of 5280 feet, is in need of improvement and asking for `'ounty aid in its improvement, and asking for `;ounty aid in its improvement, under provision of Acts of Assembly, in such case made and provided, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVES), that the County of Washington agrees to contribute $2500.00 from current funds towards said improvement, in accordance with the provisions of Acts of Assembly in such case made and provided. I ------------------- IMREAS a petition has been presented by the supervisors of Hanover Township, representing that a section of highway in said township, beginning k at end of red dog road at water trough below Florence and extending towards Five Forks and curdy School House, a distance of some 4400 feet, is in need k of improvement and asking for County aid in its improvement, under the pro- visions of the acts of Assembly in such case made and provided, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, that the County of Washington agrees to contribute the sum ,I of $750.00 towards said improvement, in accordance with the provisions of the Acts of Assembly in such case made and provided. WHEREAS, the Borough Council of the Borough of YicLonald has presented its petition to the County Commissioners , representing that a petition of highway �n said Borough, some 3991 feet in length, extending along South k 1.cBonald Street from Lincoln Avenue to County Bridge, and Lincoln Avenue from the Eastern Borough line to the Western Borough line, is in need of improvement and asking for County aid in its improvement, under provisions of the Acts of r Assembly in such case made and provided, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVES), that the County of Washington agrees to contribute the sum of 10,000.00 from current funds towards said improvement, in accordance with the provisions of the Acts of assembly in such case made and provided. i There being no further business before the meetting, it was adjourned. i (SIGNED)
