Commissioners in regular session, members present being Messrs *
Johnston, Walker and Barnes.
The following Resolution was duly presented* seconded and unanimously
adopted :-
WHEREAS, it has been found, in connection with the placing of the
bronze statue of George Washington upon the dome of the Court House, that
the terra cotta over the cupola, just below the base of the Statue and the
foundation underneath it, has become loose and defective, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVM), that Simon 'White's Sons, contractors , be authorized
to replace this terra cotta work on substantial conatete foundation works
embedding and slushing the joint* tharagghly with cement to make the same
perfectly watertight, a copper orown__mould to be placed between the terra
cotta and the base of the new Statue, the work to be thoroughly cleaned or
painted upon completion, all as may be directed during the progress of the
Job, and that said contractor keep an accurate cost of the time and material
required, for which payment shall be made upon a fair and reasonable basis,
upon presentation of Certificate from the architect, said payment to be in
addition to original contract price.

The following Resolution was duly presented, seconded and adopted
unanimously:-
MEAS, a section of highway in Peters Township, beginning at
County brick road near Canonsburg Water Dam and extending to the Canonsburg-
McMurray, near Donaldson's cornero about 6300 feet in length, is in need
of improvement, and being desirous of improving the same under the provisions
of the Act of May 31, 1911# P. L. 468, as amended,
BE IT RESOLVED, Thlkt the County of Washington, desiring in behalf of
said County, to take advantage of the said Act, do hereby -petition the
Department of Highways for the improvement of said section of highway, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the said County of Washington agrees,
in behalf of said County, to pay to the Commonwealth fifty (50 ) per cent of
the total cost of said improvement.
There being no further business-before, the meeting, it was adjourned.

The following Resolution was duly presented, seconded and
adopted unanimously:-
THEREAS, it is desired to erect a fitting monument, or
marker, on the County line between the Counties of Allegheny and Washington,
on the Pittsburgh-McMurray Road, the cost to be borne jointly by the Counties of
Allegheny and Washington, and
the County Commissioners of Alleghepy County have
submitted, plans and drawings of such monument, or marker, which are satisfactory
to this Board, and Have estimated the total cost of the erection of same to be
about $1100, bids for the construction and erection of same having been adver-
tised for by the Commissioners of Alleghehy County, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That the County of 'Washington hereby agrees
to pay one-half of the cost of the construction and erection of the said monument,
or marker, on the approximate basis of a total cost of $1100* as above set forth.
There being no further business before the Boards the meeting
was adjourned.
