Johnston, ,Walker' =4 Barnes. - The following Resolution was duly presented, seconded and adopted unanimously:- THEREAS, it is desired to erect a fitting monument, or marker, on the County line between the Counties of Allegheny and Washington, on the Pittsburgh-McMurray Road, the cost to be borne jointly by the Counties of Allegheny and Washington, and the County Commissioners of Alleghepy County have submitted, plans and drawings of such monument, or marker, which are satisfactory to this Board, and Have estimated the total cost of the erection of same to be about $1100, bids for the construction and erection of same having been adver- tised for by the Commissioners of Alleghehy County, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, That the County of 'Washington hereby agrees to pay one-half of the cost of the construction and erection of the said monument, or marker, on the approximate basis of a total cost of $1100* as above set forth. There being no further business before the Boards the meeting was adjourned. The following Resolution duly presented, seconded and adopted:- WHEREASs a movement is under way to appropriately decorate, for the Christmas Season, a part, or all, of Main Street, Washington, before business blocks and public places , by the placing of selected trees of pine, trimmed with various colored electric light bulbs and to light same at night by means of electriol*%r, now, therefore,® MINUTE BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA J.ELMER JOHNSTON, JAMES W.WALKER, W.A.BARNES, CommissioNuzs BE IT RESOLMO, that the County of Washington does appropriate, and said appropriation is hereby made, the sum of Seventy($70-00 ) Dollars from the funds of said county, to have such trees placed before the the Court House for and during the period agreed upon by the merchants and other property owners , the said trees to be trimmed as above set forth and lighted at night be electricity* the said sum to cover the entire cost to .which the County may be put by reason of such Christmas Time decoration. There being no further business befQre the Board, the meeting was adjourned. (S I GNM) Af COUNTY CQ1UQ1S_LrahW1 Office of the County Commissioners, Washington, Pa. , Dec. 22, 1927. WHEREAS, the County of Washington has applied for aid and co-operation of the State in the reconstruction or improvement of Section 10 of State Highway Route No. 268, lying within the Township of East Bethlehem and the Borough of Centreville, under the provisions of the Act of May 17# 1917, P. L. 235, said Road being situate as follows : from a point opposite the property of H C Frick Coal Company, Station 2301.1 01 to a point approximately 1-i miles N. E, of Freda:. ericktown, opposite the property of Vesta Coal Company, station 2311 Ir 00, now, therefore# BE IT RESOLVED, that the County of Washington agrees to pay to the State Treasurer of $10,280.44, within ten days after receipt from time to time of certificates from the Secretary of Highways , and that the (Tommissioners of Washington County be authoritgd to enter into an agreement with the Secretary of Highways for the reconstruction and improvement of the said section of highway upon the terms as thus set forth.
