R. - 1 Car4pbell be empowered to employ sufficient temporary help to do the work. Roved by Mr. Walker , seconded by Mr. Scher that the k above resolution be adopted. The motion was carried unanimously. Washington, Pa. , March 15, 1920 . The joint meeting of the Board of County Commissioners and the Di ctors of the Poor convened in the office of the County Commissioners iri_A* -Court House in the Borough of Washington, all the members of both boards having had personal notice of the meeting. The members present were County Commissioners Johnston, Walker and Baker. Directors of the Poor Buchanan and LAnq. 'CIO ,41U MINUTE ' BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA County Commissioner Johnston acted as Ch*trman of the joint meeting and County Commissioner Walker as Secretary. The following resolution was presented: WHEREAS, the Board of Public Charities of the State of Pennsylvania through its iepresentatives, Wm. G. Theurer and Samuel E. Gill , has notified the Board of" County Commissioners and the Directors of the Poor of this County that the main building of the ,Iounty Home at Arden does not meet the provisions of the laws nor the requirements of the State Board of Charitie a governing such insti- tutions and that repairs and alterations should be made at once, and THEREASO acting upon the orders of said Board of Cbarities , the County Commissioners and the directors of the Poor have mutually agreed to employ F. McC. Crooks as architect to prepare the necessary plans and specifications , and THEREAS, acting in accordance with the instructions of the Board of Count� Commissioners' and the Directors of the Poor , the said 17. Me. Crooks , has submitted complete plans and specifications for the repair, alteration and improvement of said building in accordance with the requirements of the State Board of Charities at an estimated cost of $40000, now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the said plans as submitted be and they are hereby adopted for said improvement and that the Board of County Commissioners and the Directors of the Poor do hereby direct the said improvements and alterations shall be made in accordance with said plans , and be it further RESOLVED, that the County Controller be direct�d to advertise for bids ^for the repair, alteration and improvement of the said main building" of the County Home, in accordance with the plans and specifications prepared by the Architect F. McC. Crooks , approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Charities and adopted by the Board of County Commissioners and the Directors of the Poor. Moved by Mr. Walker, seconded by Mr. that the reso- lution be adopted. The motion was carried unanimously, all the members present -voting in the affirmative.
