H ECKER, COMMISSIONERS Office of the County Commissioners, Washington, Pa. , July 1, 1920. I Board of County Commissioners in regular session, members 1 present being Messts. Johnson, Walker and Bcker. The following Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Washington, relative to the issuance by the said County of $75000.00 inAtemporary loan was presented : { At a meeting of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Washington, State of Pennsylvania, duly called and held at the office of the said Board of County Commissioners at the Court House of the said County 1 of Washington, in the Borough of Washington, Pennsylvania, on the l4tday of July A. D. 1920 , the following members of said Board, to-grit, Messrs Johnson, Walker i i and baker, being present, the following Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, unanimously adopted by said Board, to-wit; WHEREAS, it has become necessary for the said Board to borrow $75000.00 , for the purpose of meeting current expenses of the said County of I Washington, for which taxes have been levied but are not yet paid into the -County Treasury; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of the said County of Washington, that for the purpose of providing funds for the pay- ment of current expenses of the County that the proper officers of the OLd a County be and are hereby authorized and directed to negotiate temporary loan: a and issue note therefor, date July 1, 1920, and payable on demand with interest from date, said notes to be negotiated and issued at Citizens, National Bank of 'Washington, Pa. , in the sum of Seventy-Five Thousand ($75000 .00) Dollars. The following Resolution, duly made and seconded,, was unani"US&T A"W" AREAS, The Borough Council of the Borough of Dontloyvulis, baal`' 87 MIN- U - TE BO , OK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA J ELMER JOHNSTON, JAMES W WALKER, W H ECKER, COMMISSIONERS the Board of County Commissioners of Washington County to join the said Borough in requesting the State Highway Department to extend State aid for the improve- ment of that portion of Main Street in said Borough, situated between the Pigeon Creek Bridge and the Horak Blacksmith shop, the said Borough Council having been in regular session when Resolution was passed on June 7th,, 1920,, to thus request said ,State aid, and the said Borough Council agreeing to pay to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania from the Borough funds, one-fourth of the total expense of said improvement when due, and WHEREAS, the County Commissioners are willing to ,aid in the construe- tion cbf the said highway in so far as lies in their power, now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the said County Commissioners of Irashington county, do hereby agree on behalf of the County of Washington, to petition, in con unction with the Boroligh of Bentleyville, the State Highway Department for State aid in the improvement of the section of highway above specified and do hereby agree for said County thtt' ,it will pay to the Commonwealth one-fourth part of the total expense of said improvement. Joint meeting at 1:30 o' clock P M of the Board of County Commissioners and the Directors of the Poor held in the office of the County Commissioners in the Court House in the Borough of Washington, all members of both boards having had personal notice of said meeting, which was for the purpose of meeting with the County Controller at the opening of bids for the repair, alter- ation and improvement of the main building of the County Rome, advertisement for said bids having been made by the County Controller In pursuance of a res- olution, duly adopted at joint meeting of County Covinissioners -and Directors of the Poor held on March 15th, 1920. The members present were; County Commissioners Johnston and Ecker. Mr. Walker having notice of meeting. Directors of the Poor Buchanan and Lane; County Controller, Underwoo4. No bids having been received by the County Controller, iwresponse to advertisements inserted by him in proper publications, for the general contract, the two Boards did not go into executive session; upon motion of Mr. Roker seconded by Mr. Johnston, and carried, the Controller waa directed to return, unopened , the bid for wiring and electrical work in connection with the con- templated improvements and alterations of the County Rome, received from the Keystone Electric Supply Company. Joint meeting at 1;45 P M of Borad of County Commissioners and County Controller for the purpose of receiving and opening bl#s for 4*w resurfacifig of the Finleyville-Library Road and the Washington--West Middletown Road. Joint meeting of Board of County Commissioners and County Controller for the purpose of receiving and opening bids for the printing and j making of 88 Assessment Books, 77 Field Books , 77 Military Roll Books and' 30,000 Personal Return Blank Forms, for assessment purposes for the year 1921; j I j Commissioners present being Messrs. H ECKER, COMMISSIONERS and Baker, of Washington County. On motion duly made, seconded and carried, Mr. Closser was made r chairman of the meeting and dr. Walker, secretary. I Motion duly made and seconded that joint bridge No 1 on Ten Mile I Creek, between .East Bethlehem Township in Washington County and Jefferson Township in Greene County, be re-floored, and repainted, lumber and material for this work to be obtained by the Commissioners of Greene County and the work supervised by them; that all work repairing and repainting joint county bridges extending from Washington County to Greene County, over the waters of Ten Mile Creek, be in charge of the Commissioners of Greene County and that all work of repairing and repainting joint county bridges extending from Washington County to Greene I County, over the waters of Wheeling Creek, be in charge of the Commissioners of Washington County; the expenses incident to all necessary repairs and re- painting of said inter-county bridges to be borne equally by the counties of Greene and Washington; this arrangement to cover necessary bridge work on said inter- county bridges throughout the current year, to-wit, the year 1920. Motion unanimously carried. There being no further business before the joint session, it was regularly adjourned. (SIGNED) 2fL COUNTY COMMISSIONERS. Walker, seconded by Mr Baker, that the County Controller be instructed to return to individuals and firms who presented bids for construction of bridges at Avella, Lagonda and Ellsworth, under date of, May 25, 1920, the certified checks accompanying their said bids. Carried unanimously. j > Votion of Mr. Baker, seconded by Mr. Walker, that the time for f completion of the Burgettstown•Bulger Road by the contractors, the Federal r construction Company, be extended to October 1, 1920. Carried unanimously, Motion by pr. Walker, seconded by Idr.
