COMMISSIONERS purpose of providing funds for permanently improving, repairing and main- taining the public roads and highways in said County as provided by the Acts bf Assembly of kay 119 1911, P. L. 244, and iiay 31, 1911, P.L. 4681, and the amendments thereof and supplements thereto, and assented to Jry the electors of Washington County by virtue and in pursuance of a special election held in said Uounty Qn the 17th day of June, 1919, for their approval or disapproval. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That said proposed issue of Road Improvement Bonds be submitted to the Court of Quarter Sesetias at Saturday, November 12, 1921, at 10 o'clock A.K. , for its approval or disapproval. Presented -and adopted at a regular meeting of the Board of County Commissioners of Washington County held at their office in the Court Mouse at Washington, Pennsylvania, on the 2nd day of November,, 1921', and duly recorded in the minutes of said -board. The following resolution was duly presented by Mr. Zoksr, and seconded by Mr. Johnston: - WHEREAS, additional ground at the county seat for the purpose of the erection and extension -of building or buildings as may be necessary for accommodation of the Courts has become apparent to the County Comm iSs- ioners, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, That the aforesaid matter be placed before the November Term Grand Jury, in session on Saturday, November 12, 1921, at 9:15 A.M., for its consideration and action. Question called for; voting "Aye" Messrs. Ecker and Johnston. Resolution adopted. There being no further business, the Board . (SIGNED) County Commissioners. REPORT OF GRANT) JURY AT NOVMUM TBRW, 1921. The, Grand Jury of the County of Washington in session -for the purpose of investigating and considering the niacessity of additional ground at the county seat,,for the purpose of the erectionor extensionof building or buildings as may be necessary for the accommodation of the courts, and of the several officers of the Cbunty, proceeded., at the Court House in said Cbuuty, on the 12th day of November, 1921, at 9:15 otolock A.M., to investigate and consider the matter- aforesaid, and after full investigation of the matter, find that the present accommodations for the officers of.the Juvenile Court are wholly inadequate, ,and that the present house for detention of juvenile delinquents, is over -crowded and not properly arranged for the confinement of such persons. In pursuance to the finding of facts aforesaid, the Grand Jury have taken and do hereby take the following action thereon, to wit: The necessities of the County require ground at the county seat for the erection or extension�,of building or buildings for the more adequate accommodation of the Courts and of the several officers of the Cbunty, and the said Grand Jury recommends the purchase of ground at the county seat for the purposes aforesaid. Walker and Johnston; Mr. ECker having notice of meeting, but absent. The following resolution was presented by Mr. Walker: onAow,AS, a contract was let for the permanent improvement and maintenance of the Finleyville-Library road in Washington County, it being the understanding and intention of the County Commissioners that payment of said contract should be made from the moneys in the General Fund of the county, the sum thus paid to be later transferred from the Road Fund when the latter fund should have in it sufficient moneys from the sale of bonds for the permanent improvement and maintenance of state highways in accordance with Fj 1 1 the Acts of Assembly pertaining thereto, and FMI MINUTE BOOK 4� BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS - WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA J ELMER JOHNSTON JAMES W WALKER, W. H ECKER, COMMISSIONERS I wrAzA-AS, it now appears that there is in the said Road Fund of the county sufficient funds to warrant the transfer of a part of the amount expended on the said Finleyville•Library road from the Road Fund to the General Fund of the county, NOW, THEMMORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the County Treasurer be directed, with the approval of the County Controller, to transfer permanently from the Road Fund of the County of Washington to the General Fund of said county the sum of $100,000.00, being a part of the sum expended upon the said Finleyville- Library road, the balance of the money expended upon said road to be trans- ferred to the General Fund when there shall be sufficient stoney in the Road Fund to warrant this action. Resolution seconded by Mr. Johnston; Question called for. Voting in favor of its adoption, Messrs. Walker and Johnston. Resolution adopted. Approved: (SIGNED) T. J. Underwood County Controller. Chubb.ic be elected stenographer and clerk in°the office of the County Commissioners, effective December 15, 1921, to fill vacancy caused by resignationof Miss Minnie S. Hayes, effective December 1, 1921, the salary of the said Miss Chubbio to be at rate of $100#00 per mont)L, beginning on December. 15, 1921. Motion unanimously carried.
