Motion by Mr. Johnsto4,ssoonded by Mr. Walker, that County
Controller be directed to advertise for bids for printing 1500 copies of the
"School Annual", for the office of County Superintendent of Schools, as per
requisition this day filed by County Superintendent and approved by this
Board; plans, subject matter, etc. , may be seen at office of County Sup rin-
tendent of Schools.
question called for. Voting "Aye" Messrs. Walker and Johnston.

Commissioners in joint session with County Controller at 3:00
o 'clock P.M. for the purpose of receiving and opening bids for the publica-
tion of the "School Annual", requested by County Superintendent Crumrine
upon regular requisition. Present for County Commissioners, Messrs, Walker
and Johnston; for Cbunty Controller, Deputy Controller M. M. Decker: Bids
from the following firms were opened in the presence of the County Commiss-
ioners, and publicly announced;
observer Publishing Company - - - - - - - - - -- -$364.00,
based on a publication of 65. Men; more or less pages to be at
increase or decrease, based -on these figures; bid accompanied by
certified check in the required amount .
Washington Printing Cbmpany - - - - - - - - - - -$380.00,
based on a publication of 65 pages and cover; no certified check
accompanied this bid.
As a question had arisen concerning the legal rights of the
f County of Washington to assume the expense of printing the said "School
Annual", upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, action upon letting
of contract was deferred until an opinion on the matter of legality of such
