BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA

Washington, Pa. , January 2, 1923 -
Commissioners in regular -session, members present being Messrs.
Walker, Johnston and Baker.
Motion by Mr . Johnston, seconded by Mr. Baker, that Board
proceed to organize for ensuing year. Motion unanimously carried.
Notion by Mr. Johnston, 'seconded by Mr. Baker, that the Board
of County Commissioners organize for the year 1923 with the same officials
as for the year 1922, to wit, Chairman, Mr. J. W. Walker; Secretary, Mr.
J. E. Johnston. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion by Mr. Baker, seconded by Mr. Johnston, that all County
employees coming within the jurisdiction of the Board of County Commissioners,
including County Solicitor, Clerks in Office of County Commissioners, County
Engineers and employees, Sealer' of Weights and Measures, Superintendent of
buildings and assistants, Enginsers' of buildings and assistant, Night Watchmen,
Stenographer in office of Probation Officers Stenographer in office of County
Superintendent of Schools, eto. , be re-elected at the same salaries as pre-
vailed during the year 1922, with the provision that all of said employees
be thus re-elected subject to a thirty days' notice of dismissal or retire-
ment, as per the following list of said employees:-

Later there followed a motion by Mr. Soker, seconded by Mr.
Underwood, sitting as members- of Salary Board, that the salary awarded to
Leo Maloney, an .employee of the County Commissioners' Office, be changed
from $125.00 per month to $150.00 per month. question called for; voting
"Aye", Mr. Ecker; voting "No", Messrs. 'Underwood, Walker and Johnston.
Motion to st.
Motion by Mr. Johnston, seconded by Mr. Ecker, that J. Russell
Wilson, be authorized to prepare Road and Bridge Map of Washington County,
fully up to date and complete in every way, with plate glass in frame and
hung on wall, for the sum of $200.00• Motion carried.

The SALARY BOARD,_ having to do with salaries for the office
of the County Controller, met in the office of the County Commissioners on
Tuesday, January. 2, 1923, following members being present:- County Controller
Underwood, County Commissioners Walker, Johnston and Ecker. Board organized
by electing Mr. Walker, Chairman and John G . Hall, Secretary.
Motion by Mr. Underwood, seconded by Mr. Ecker, that all
employees of Controller's Office be retained for the year 1923 at the
salaries paid to them during the year 1922, save in the case of Clyde Bogner,
oler$ in said office, whose salary should be increased to $125.00 per month.
Question called for; voting "Aye", Messrs. Underwood, Johnston and Walker;
voting "No", Mr. Ecker. Motion carried.
There being no further business, the Board adjourned.

The SALARY'BOARD, having to do with salaries for the office
of Recorder of Deeds, met in the office of the County Commissioners on
Tuesday, January 2, 1923, following members being present:- Recorder Valen-
tour, Controller, Underwood, County Commissioners Walker, Johnston and Ecker.

The following resolutions were presented and adopted:
RESOLVED by the County Commissioner's of Washington 'Cou- nty,
Pennsylvania, that they deem it expedient to improve, under the provisions of
the Act of Assembly of said Commonwealth, approved May li, 1911, the following
described section of one of the main roads or- highways within said-County,
to wit:
A section of the highway known as the road leading from
California to the National Pike at Malden, beginning at the forks of the road
at the Dr. Leatherman property; thence by way of said California and Malden ;
Road in a southwesterly direction through the Township of East Pike Run, a
distance of 2, 350 feet to the Borough Line of Centerville Borough.
That an application for the approval of such -improvement be
presented to the Court of quarter Sessions of said County and that upon the ;
