Adjourned meeting of the County Commissioners and Directors of the Poor held at the County home at 6 P.M. to receive report of the architect, Mr. Crooks, upon the bids for 'repairs and improvements of the County Building, opened at 2 P.M. ; present for County Commissioners, Messrs.' Walker, Johnston and Ecker; for Directors of the Poor, Messrs. Buchanan and Pollock. Motion by Mr. Johnston, seconded by Mr. Ecker, that the contract for repairs and improvements to the County Building at Arden be awarded to J. U. Bumgarner, Washington, at his bid of $36,189.00, without painting of plaster walls, his bid being the lowest and best and in conformity to the specifications and modifications thereof made known to competing contractors by the architect, Mr. Crooks. Motion unanimously carried. Motion by Mr. Ecker, seconded by Mr. Johnston, that the contract for heating system be awarded to the Washington Plumbing & Heating Company at its bid of $1, 317.49, and that the .contract for plumbing be let to the Teemer Company, Pittsburgh, at its bid of. $5r600.00, the said bids being the lowest and best ones received. Motion unanimously carried. Motion by Mr. Johnston, seconded by Mr. Ecker, that inasmuch as no bids were received for the installing of an electric wiring system, that the County Controller be requested to readvertise for bids for same, in accordance with specifications that have been prepared therefor by the architect, Mr. Crooks . The County Commissioners of Washington County, Messrs . .J. W. Walker, J. E. Johnston and W. H. Ecker, having on this date been duly qualified before the Hon. James I . Brownson, Judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Washington County, as members of the Board of Revision to adjust and equalize assessments of property for taxable purposes in Washington County, met in ,regular sessionas such Board of, Revision. Ecker, that valuations upon coal properties for purposes of taxation in Washington County, save in the Townships of Jefferson and Independence, be unchanged as to present valuations upon inactive coal and that valuations of 100 acres of active coal at mine openings be $400.00 per acre in excess of valuations of inactive coal in all districts of Washington County. Motion unanimously carried. There being no further business before the said Board of Revision, it adjourned. (SIGNED), Board of Revision. Office of County Commissioners. The following resolution duly presented and ,adopted:- WHEREAS, It is provided by Act of Assembly approved May 31, _1911, P.L. 468, that the State Highway Commissioner, with respect to any State-aid Highway contract, shall certify to the State Treasurer and to the officials of the respective county, township or borough concerned therewith, from time to time during the performance of the work, any sum or sums due from said County, township or borough on the cost of such improvement, and - — WHEREAS, The County of Washington has applied for the aid - and cooperation of the State in the reconstruction or improvement of a certain section of State Highway Route No . 268, lying within the Township of Allen and Speers and Dunlevy Boroughs, in the same manner as a State- aid Highway, in accordance with the provisions of the Act of May 17, 1917, P.L. 235, said road being situated as follows: From end of brick pavement in Speers Borough, Station 1348/37, to the Village of Allenport, Station 1483/07.6, on Route No. 268, Section No . 1. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the said County of Washington, pay to the State Treasurer the approximate sum of One hundred two thousand seven 'hundred six dollars and fifty-seven cents ($102, 706.57) , within ten (10) days after receipt from time to time during the performance -of the work, of certifications from the State Highway Commissioner showing the amount of work performed and the material furnished by the contractor
