At 11:10 A.M. joint meeting of Commissioners and County Con-
troller to open bids for the purchase of $500,000.00 Road Improvement
Bonds, Series A 1922, as per advertisement duly inserted by County Con-
troller; present for County Commissioners, Messrs. Walker, Johnston and
Ecker, for Controller's Office, T. J. Underwood, County Controller. In
the presence of the County Commissioners bids were presented from the
following:-

All_bids accompanied by certified check in the sum of $10,.000.009 as
required.
Motion by Mr. Ecker, seconded by Mr. Johnston, that the bonds
be awarded to the highest bidder, to wit, The Guaranty Company of New York,
at its bid of par, accrued interest and premium of $25,135.00, and that
certified checks accompanying proposals of unsuccessful bidders be returned.
Motion unanimously - carr-fed.

Notion by Mr. Johnston, seconded by Mr. Walker, that Hugh
Quigley be appointed Assessor in and for the Borough of Marianna, to fill
vacancy caused by removal of regularly elected Assessor therein. Motion
carried. I.

Motion by Mr. Johnston, seconded by Mr. Zcker, that contract
for furnishing 500 Bonds for the $500, 000.00 issue of Road Improvement
Bonds, Series' A 1922, be awarded to the Security Bank Note Company, of
Philadelphia, Pa. ,, it being the lowest and beat bidder, at the price
submitted, to wit, $266-0o. Motion unanimously carried.
There being no further business, the Board adjourned.

The following resolution of the Board of County Commissioners
of the County of Washington, relative to the issue by the said county of
$25,000.00 in temporary loans was presented, duly seconded and unanimously !
adopted by said Board,, to wit :
WHEREAS, 'it has become necessary for the said Board to barrow �
the sum of $25, 000-00 for the purpose of- meeting current expenses for the
year 1922 and for which taxes have been leviedbut are not yet paid into
the County Treasurer, now, therefore,
