HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOMM - Meeting Minutes - - 5-29-1922 - COMMISSIONER 2 MINUTE BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA J ELMER JOHNSTON, JAMES W WALKER, W H ECKER, COMMISS.ONERS year 1922 and for which taxes have been levied but are not yet paid into r the County Treasurer, now, therefore, I3B IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of the said County of Washington, that for the purpose of providing funds for the payment of current expenses, the proper officers of the said county are hereby authorized and directed to negotiate temporary loans and issue notes therefor, payable on demand, with interest from date; said notes to be negotiated and issued as follows: .Name of Institution: Amount Citizens lational Bank, Washington, Pa. $25, 000.00 and that the said notes be paid_ out of the first funds available to the County Treasurer from the taxes levied for the current year of 1922. Walker, Johnston and Ecker. The following resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Washington, relative to the issue by the said county of $10, 000.00 in temporary loans was presented, duly seconded and unanimously adopted by said Board, to wit : WHEREAS, it has become necessary for the said Board to borrow the sum of $10, 000.00 for the purpose of meeting current expenses for the year 1922 and for which taxes have been levied but are not yet paid into the County Treasurer, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of the said County of Washington, that for the purpose of providing funds for the payment of current expenses, the proper officers of the said county are hereby authorized and directed to negotiate temporary loans and issue notes , therefor, payable on demand, with interest from date; said notes to be negotiated and issued as follows: Name- of Institution: Amount First National Bank, Roscoe, Pa. $10, 000.00 N V T E B V 0 K BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA J ELMER JOHNSTON, JAMES W WALKER W H ECKER, COMMISSIONERS and that the said notes be paid out of the first funds available to the County Treasurer from the taxes levied for the current year of 1922. ------------.----- Motion by Mr. Ecker, seconded by Mr. Johnston, that County Controller be requested to advertise for bids for making and delivering approximately eighty-five (85) assessment books and seventy-seven (?7) field books for the annual assessment for the year 1923, specifications for said books to be seen at office of County Commissioners. Motion unanimously carried. ----------------- Motion by Mr. Johnston, seconded by,Mr. Ecker, that A. A. Cummins, Judge of Elections in and for the Second Ward, Second Precinct, Washington, be appointed Return Judge to represent Washington County in consolidating votes cast for Representative in Congress, 25th District, at Spring Primary of. May lb, 1922, and that James B. Jones, Judge of Elections in First Ward, First Precinct, Canonsburg, be appointed Return Judge to represent Washington County in consolidating votes cast for Senator in the General Assembly, 46th District, at. said primary; said Return Judges to meet with similar officials from Greene County at the Court House, Washington, Tuesday, May 30, 1922. Motion by Mr. Johnston, seconded by Mr. Walker, that contract for the construction of the Frye Station Road be awarded to Thomas Arrigo , he being the lowest and best bidder thereon, at the sum set forth in his proposal. Question called for; voting "aye" , Messrs. Walker and Johnston.
