Commissioners in regular session, members present being Messrs. Johnston and Baker; Mr. Walker having notice of meeting, but absent. Joint meeting of County Commissioners and County Controller at 11:35 A.M. to open bids for the printing and furnishing complete assess- ment books and field books for the annual assessment for the year 1922; present for County Commissioners, Messrs. Johnston and Baker; for County Controller, Deputy Controller M. M. Decker; bids from the following con-' cerns opened in presence of County Commissioners, and duly read: WILLIAM G. JOHNSTON & Co . , Pittsburgh, Assessment Books-----------------------------------------$318-00 Field Books-------------..--------------------------------- 77-00 ASHBY PRINTING COMPANY, Brie, Pa. Assessment Books------------------------------ $300.00 FieldBooks--------------------------------------------- 65-00 WARD PRINTING COMPANY, Washington, Assessment and Field Books (bid made in lump)-------------$357-00 Motion by Mr. Baker, seconded by Mr. Johnston, that the contract for printing and furnishing of assessment and, field books for the year 1923 be awarded to the Ward Printing Company, ,Washington, Pa. , at its bid of $357.00, and that the Controller be directed to return certified checks of unsuccessful bidders. Question called for, voting "aye", Messrs. Johnston and Eaker. Motion carried. There being no further business before the joint session, it was adjourned. Motion unanimously carried. ------------------ 230 MINUTE BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENT` SYLVANIA J ELMER JOHNSTON, JAMES W WALKER, W H ECKER, COMMISSIONERS June 26, 1922. The following resolution was presented and adopted:- WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Commissioners of the County of Washington to accept the provisions of the Act of July 1, 1919, P. L. 893 and the amendment thereto approved the 27th day of May, 1921, being Act No . 433, commonly known as the mothers' Assistance Fund Act, and to make same effective in said county and to appropriate from the funds of the County of Washington for the purpose of carrying said Act into effect a sum equal- to the amount .apportioned to the County of Washington from the appropriation made by the Legislature, as per Act approved May 27, 1921, Vo'* 438, and WHEREAS, it has been ascertained by the said County Commiss- ioners that the amount of such apportionment to Washington County, under said Act for the-period commencing- June 1, 1921, and ending May 31, 1923, is $15,892.50; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Commissioners of the County of Washington, that the sum of 07,946.25 be and the same is hereby appropriated from the general fundsof the County of Washington to the Trustees of the Mothers' Assistance Fund of said county, to be disbursed by the said True- tees in accordance with the provisions of the Acts aforesaid, for the period of June 1, 1922-May 31, 1923- ------------ The following resolution was presented and adopted: - WHEREAS, the State of Pennsylvania had in its treasury at the end of the fiscal year ending May 31st, 1921, the money unused by the unor- ganized counties under the mothers' Assistance Fund law of 1919, known as the "Surplus Fund", and is available for division among the counties that have already availed themselves of the provisions of said Act, and WHEREAS, the said allotment to the counties which have availed themselves of the provisions of said Act is four per cent= of the first amount apportioned to the County; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, that the County of Washington make application for the said sum of four per centum, of the said "Surplus -Fund", and the County -of Washington hereby makes an appropriation of the sum of Six hundred thirty-five and 70/100 ($635-70) Dollars, said amount to be dis- bursed by .the Board of Trustees, of the mothers? Assistance Fund of Washing- ton County during the period commencing June let, 1922, and ending May 318t, 1923- There being no further business, the Board (SIGNED) County' Crdmmissioners .
