The following resolution presented and adopted:
AREAS, it is reported by the Sheriff that he is!!1
frequently
unable to collect fees for services because of carelessness or neglect on
the part of attorneys:
On motion of Ecker, seconded by Johnston, RESOLVED, that all
county officers -now paid -salaries who perform services for whicIh fees are
,
paid shall be required to demand and collect all -such fees in advance; and,
in order to bring this rule to the attention of attorneys and others, such
I'
officers shall have posted in their offices copies of this resolution.
There being no further business, the Board adjourned.

At 11 A.M. joint meeting, of County Commissioners and County
Controller to open bids for the delivery of ballots and supplies for the
General Election of November 7, 1922, and for the furnishing and erecting
of a fire -proof garage, 40x80 feet on the County property, situate on the

rear of lot #80 West Beau Street; members present for County Commissioners,
Messrs. Walker, Johnston,and Ecker; County Controller T. J. Underwood
present. Bids for the delivery of ballots received from the hollowing
persons and opened in the presence of the County Comnissioners:jj
William G. Lease $580.00
William Galley 425.50
Motion by Mr. Johnston, seconded by Mr. Ecker, that the
awarding of contract for delivery of ballots, etc., be deferred'until 1 P.M.'

Motion carried.
Bids for the construction o f - garage received from' one firm, as
follows, opened in presence of County Commissioners;
Truscon Steel Company $4560.00

As this bid was not accompanied by certified check in the sum oif $1000.00 as

required, but a representative of the Company who was present having stated!
that said check was in the mails en route to this office, motion by -Mr. Bcker,
seconded by Mr. Johnston, that the contract for the construction of the
garage be awarded to the Truscon Steel Company at its bid of $4560.00, con.'
ditioned upon the receipt of the aforesaid check. Motion unanimously
carried.
There being no further business before the joint meeting, it
was adjourned, and the meeting of the County Commissioners adjourned also.

Messrs. balker, Johnston and Baker.
Motion by Mr. Johnston, seconded by Mr. Ecker, that contract
for the delivery of ballots and supplies for the General Election to be
held on November 7, 1922, be awarded to Mr. William Galley at his bid of
$425.50. Motion unanimously carried.
There being no further business, the Board adjourned.

Motion by Mr. Ecker, seconded by Mr. Johnston, that contract
for lighting the Monongahela River Bridge, as prepared and submitted by
Allegheny County Commissioners, this being a joint contract, be approved.
Motion unanimously carried.
There being no further business, the Board adjourned.
