Commissioners in °-egular session, members present being Messrs. Walker, Johnston and Ecker, Motion by Mr. Johnston, seconded by Mrs Ecker, that the county solicitor be directed to take proper legal steps to place before the Grand Jury of Washington County, for its approval , that portion of the public highway leading from Raccoon to Cherry Valley, beginning at the county concrete road in the village of Raccoon and extending in a southeasterly direction, via the Cherry Valley road, through` the village of Cherry Valley, and being in ] ength,` 14,650 feet , more or less; all of said road being in Smith Township, the estimated costs of its construction being $137 ,850.00. July 18, 1923--At a meeting of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Washington, in the State of Pennsylvania, duly called and held at the office of said Board of County Commissioners , at the Court House of the. said County of Washington, in the Borough of Washington, Pennsylvania, on the 18th day of July, 1923 , all of the members of said Board, to wit , J. W. Walker, J. E. Johnston and W. H. Ecker being present, the following resolution was, • on motion duly made and seconded, unanimously adopted by said board, to,-wit: Whereas, by resolution adopted on the 21st day of May , 1923 , providing for the issuing of one hundred sixty-five thousand ( $165,000) dollars of Road j Improvement Bonds, no provision was made for the levy of a tax sufficient to cover the payment of the State tax of four ( 4)mille upon such indebtedness, Now be it resolved, that the paragraph of said resolution referringi - it to .the levying of an annual tax be amended so as to read as follows: - Be it further resolved, that an annual tax, beginning with the year; 1924, be and the same is hereby levied and assessed upon the proper subjects of taxation within said County , to be applied solely to the payment of the principal of said bonds at maturity and the interest and State taxes thereon ;i as the same shall become payable ( said annual tax- is sufficient for the payment i of the interest and State taxes thereon and of the principal of said debt within a period not exceeding thirty years, to wit , within twenty-six years from the
