Commissioners in regular session, members present being Messrs,
Walker, Johnston and Ecker.
The following Resolution was kly presented, seconded and adopted: -
WHEREAS, the county officials of the County of Washington ,will 'all be ,
paid salaries by the county, beginning with the first Monday of January, 1924,1'
the population of the county being in excess of 150,000 , as shown by the
United States Census of 1920; and,
,11HEREAS, all such county officials are required to give bonds for the
faithful performance of their duties ; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That the bonds' to be thus given by all county officials
of the County of Washington shall be required to be endorsed by ,a surety company ,
duly authorized to act as such surety in and for the County of Washington,-
Pennsylvania.
There being no further business , the Board adjoin

Walker and Johnston; Mr. Ecker havingnotice of meeting, but absent.
Motion by Mr. Johnston, seconded by Mr. ',Valker, that the Nond to be
given by the County Treasurer, Mr. J. E. Masters, be fixed at the sum of
$500 ,000 ( five hundred thousand dollars) , with good and sufficient sureties ,
this amount being deemed necessary owing to the increased business of the
County of Washington. question called for; voting "Aye" , Messrs Johnston and
Walker. Motion carried.

The following Resolutions duly presented and unanimously adop d ted : -
19HEREASII -the town ,council of the Borough of Bentleyville has 'filed its
petition praying for aid in construction of a certain piece of highway in said
borough, some 3000 feet in length ( more particularly descrilved in said petition) ,
now,
BE IT RESOLVED, that the County of Washington shall aid in- the construction
of the said highway, in accordance with the requirements of Acts of,, Assembly
having to do therewith, and that the resolution, together with said�' petition,
be forwared at once to the State Highway Department , at Harrisburg,, for its ap-
proval.

WHEREAS, the town council of the Borough of Ellsworth has filed its
petition praying for aid in construction of a certain piece of highway in said
borough, some 3800 feet in length ( more particularly described in said petition)
now,
BE IT RESOLVED, that the County of Washington shall aid in the construe-
tion of the said highway , in accordance with the requirements of Acts of Assembly
having to do therewith, andthat this resolution, together with said,lpetition,
be forwarded at once to the State Highway Department , at Hatrisbur&:, for its
approval.
There being no further business., the Board adjourned.
