I Walker, Johnston and Baker. i Motion by Mr. Baker, seconded by Mr. Johnston, that the rate of Taxation upon the valuation of the property of the County, in order to raise sufficient revenues to meet required expenditures for the year 1923, be fixed at seven and one-half t7*j millet the same rate as adopted for the r year 1922. Motion by Mr. Baker, seconded by Mr. Johnston, that County Controller be directed to advertise for bids for the construction of the i roads indicated in the list below and that no contract be awarded, or in effect, for any of the roads to be constructed until releases of damages and bonds covering damages for each particular section have been obtained. Motion unanimously carried. MONONGAHELA PIKE - EIGHTY FOUR SECTION, beginning at the eastern end of present concrete road, near Clokey and extending eastwardly to Dunningsville, a distance of 21, 506.5 feet, more or less. MONONGAHELA PIKE - GINGER HILL SECTION, beginning at the eastern end of the present concrete road on the T. B. Kahle property, and extend- ing eastwardly to Valley Inn, a distance of 19, 030 feet, more or less• BURGETTSTOWN - BULGE,R #2, beginning at the forks of the road at Raccoon and extending eastwardly to Bulger, a distance of 10,090 feet, more or less . COUNTY HOME ROAD, beginning at the County Bridge over Chartiers Creek at Arden and extending eastwardly to McClanes Station, a distance of 6, 590 feet, more or lose LANGLOTH ROAD, beginning at the end of the paving on Riddle Street and extending southwardly to Lan loth, a distance of 4,200 feet, more or less. WASHINGTON STREET, MIDWAY, beginning at the end of the concrete roadway near the western boro line of Midway, thence via Washington St. , to Railroad St. , a distance of 1, 570 feet more or less. McDONALD-Primrose ROAD, beginning at the western boro line of McDonald and extending towards Primrose 5,280 feet, more or less. MIDWAY-STEUBINVILLE PIKE, #3 SECTION, beginning at northern end of the present concrete road and extending northwardly a distance of 2,000 feet more or less . rr r r r r r r r r r rs+r r Motion by Mr. Eoker, seconded by Mr. Johnston, that inasmuch as a recent opinion of the Court held that the choice of officials at County Detention -Rooms, with the fixing of salary thereof, was vested in the County Commissioners, and Mrs. Mary Ellen Hughes had been acting as Assistant Matron at Detention Rooms at No . 80 West Beau Street, for a period of 59 days prior to her death, during which time no payment had been made to- her on account of salary, that a voucher be now drawn at the rate of $1.00 per diem for the period during which she had thus been employed and had acted as said Assistant Matron, the said voucher to be made in the name of David Hughes, the surviving husband of the said Mary Ellen Hughes. Motion by Mr. Ecker, seconded by Mr. Johnston, that all efforts be made to have survey made of that portion of Centerville-Charleroi road in West Pike Run Township and lay projected improvement of said road on 50-50 basis before the May Grand Jury for approval by that body.
