HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOMM - Meeting Minutes - 800 - 10-26-2006 - COMMISSIONERM I ICJ U T E BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS B 0 0 K WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA Minute No. 800 Washington County Commissioners Washington, PA, October 26, 2006 The Washington County Board of Commissioners met in a special session in the Public Meeting Room, Courthouse Square, Washington, Pennsylvania, with the following members being present: Commissioners Larry Maggi, Bracken Burns and Diana L. Irey. Also being present: Mary Helicke, Chief Clerk; Lynn DeHaven and Mary Lyn Drewitz, Solicitors; Joyce Thornburg, Solicitor Secretary; Joy Sprowls and JoAnn Metz, Commissioners' Office; Linda Ritzer, Observer -Reporter; Randy Gore, WJPA. Co -Chairman Burns called the special meeting to order at approximately 9:40 a.m. for the purpose of considering potential action in the matter of John C. Pettit, District Attorney vs. Michael Namie, et al, No. 2003-6317 filed in the Court of Common Pleas of Washington County, Pennsylvania. PUBLIC COMMENTS None NEW BUSINESS At this time, Co -Chairman Burns called for an Executive Session. Co -Chairman Burns reconvened the meeting after Executive Session for the purpose of a decision in the matter of John C. Pettit vs. Michael Namie, et al. Co -Chairman Burns asked if there is a motion to come before this Board. Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Maggi, that the Commissioners appeal the decision of the Washington County Court of Common Pleas entered on October 16, 2006 in the matter of John C. Pettit, District Attorney of Washington County, Pennsylvania vs. Michael L. Namie, Controller of Washington County. Other interested parties, Board of Commissioners of Washington County, Pennsylvania and Frederick A. Brilla, an individual at No. 2003-6317. And, we direct the Washington County Solicitors to take all appropriate actions necessary to effectuate the appeal. Roll call vote taken: Mrs. Irey - Yes; Mr. Maggi - Yes; Mr. Burns - Yes. Motion carried unanimously.
