HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOMM - Meeting Minutes - 2-S-11 - 2-3-2011 - SALARY21 M I N U T E WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA Minute No. 2-S-11 Washington County Commissioners Washington, PA, February 3, 2011 The Washington County Salary Board met in session in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse Square Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of reconvening with the following members being present: Commissioners Larry Maggi, Bracken Burns and Diana Irey Vaughan; and Controller Michael Namie. Also being present: Scott Fergus, Director of Administration; Mary Helicke, Chief Clerk; Lynn DeHaven, Solicitor; Linda Belcher, Administrative Assistant; Chuck Nicholls, Director of Human Resources; Josh Hatfield, Deputy Controller; Jay Dutton, Laurie Popeck, John Adams, Frank Byrd, interested citizens; Jim Jefferson, WJPA; and Barbara Miller, Observer -Reporter. Chairman Maggi called the meeting to order at approximately 10:50 a.m. Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Burns, approving Minute No. 2-S-11 dated January 3, 2011 as written. Roll call vote taken: Mrs. Irey Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Burns — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes. Motion carried unanimously. PUBLIC COMMENTS: John Adams, of Avella, commented on the elected officials 3% raises. He stated that the taxpayers cannot afford these increases. FOR THIF BOARD'S CONSIDERATION TAIL AD14INISTRATION Captain, approve awarding Captains at the Jail a salary supplement of $251.11 for each full additional shift worked as a Shaft Commander effective retroactive to 1/1/11. Additional partial shifts will receive a prorated share of $251.11. CHILDLREN AND YOUTH SERVICES Attorney, 56,368.55 increase to 62,500.00, increase in annual salary due to increase in position responsibilities, eff. retroactive to 1/1/11 Moved by Mrs. Irey Vaughan, seconded by Mr. Burns, approving the following personnel items. Roll call vote taken: Mars. Irey Vaughan - Yes; Mr. Burns - Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes. Motion carried unanimously. MEMORANDUMS OF UNDERSTANDING HUMAN SERVICES Fi;;cal Manager, 153.85/day, create one Temp. Position, eff. 1/27/11 and 1/28/11 Moved by Mrs. Irey Vaughan, seconded by Mr. Burns, approving the foregoing personnel item.
