Shober, Jr.; and Controller Michael Namie. Also being present: Chief Clerk Mary Helicke; Solicitor J. Lynn DeHaven; Administrative Assistant Joyce Thornburg, President Judge Debbie O'Dell Seneca, District Attorney Gene Vittone, Court Administrator Chris Weller, Deputy Court Administrator Tim McCullough, 1st Assistant District Attorney Mike Lucas, Human Resources Director Chuck Nicholls; Buildings and Grounds Director Gary Bertosh, Observer -Reporter representative Barbara Miller, concerned citizens Maya Patch, Carl Maggi, Frank Byrd and John Adams. Chairman Maggi called the meeting to order at approximately 10:43 a.m. Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Shober, approving Minute No. 5-S-12 dated May 3, 2012, as written. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Shober - Yes; Mrs. Irey Vaughan - Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes. Motion carried unanimously. PUBLIC COMMENTS John Adams of Avella commented on the three percent pay increase and the county pension fund. FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION PRESIDENT JUDGE O'DELL SENECA President Judge O'Dell Seneca presented to the board a motion to abolish one full time Probation Officer II union position at $20.36/hour, effective June 7, 2012, and create one full time Probation Officer I union position at $17.19/hour, at a county savings of approximately $21,000.00. Moved by President Judge O'Dell Seneca, seconded by Mrs. Irey Vaughan, approving the foregoing personnel item. Roll call vote taken: President Judge O'Dell Seneca - Yes; Mr. Shober - Yes; Mrs. Irey Vaughan - Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Namie - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. President Judge O'Dell Seneca presented to the board a motion to increase the part time quasi-judicial position from one day per week to two days per week effective June 7, 2012; two days of the four days will be used for dependency cases to be paid out of the Children & Youth budget and the other two days will be used for delinquency cases. Moved by President Judge O'Dell Seneca, seconded by Mrs. Irey Vaughan, approving the foregoing personnel item. Roll call vote taken: President Judge O'Dell Seneca - Yes; Mr. Shober - Yes; Mrs. Irey Vaughan - Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Namie - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. District Attorney Gene Vittone introduced 1st Assistant District Attorney Mike Lucas to present the following motions: DISTRICT ATTORNEY Chief of Staff, $67,067.62, abolish one vacant full time salaried position effective 6/7/12 General duty detective, $42,000.00, create one full time salaried position effective 6/7/12 *Detective, $20.00/hour, create one per -diem position not to exceed $10,000.00 per year effective 6/7/12 1 I *Detective, $15.00/hour, create one per diem pool of four positions not to exceed $10,000.00 per year effective 6/7/12 *Combined total for all above per -diem positions in the District Attorney's Office not to exceed $10,000.00 per year. Moved by 111t Assistant District Attorney Mike Lucas, seconded by Mrs. Irey Vaughan, approving the foregoing personnel item. Roll call vote taken: District Attorney Gene Vittone - Yes; Mr. Shober - Yes; Mrs. Irey Vaughan - Yes; Mr. Maggi - Yes; Mr. Namie - Yes. Motion carried unanimously.
