HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOMM - Meeting Minutes - SB 11-21-13 - 11-21-2013 - SALARY130 M IN UTE BOO K BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLANIA ]MR LIMITED E00718327LD Salary Board Minute No. SB 11-21-13 Washington County Commissioners Washington, Pa., November 21, 2013 The Washington County Salary Board met in session in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse Square Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of reconvening with the following members being present: Commissioners Larry Maggi, Diana Vaughan, Harlan G. Shober, Jr. and Deputy Controller Michael Namie. Also being present: Solicitor J. Lynn DeHaven; Chief Clerk Mary Helicke; Administrative Assistant Joyce Thornburg; Human Resources Director Chuck Nicholls; Recorder of Deeds Debbie Bardella; Observer - Reporter representative Barbara Miller; WJPA representative Jim Jefferson; and concerned citizen Frank Byrd. Chairman Maggi called the meeting to order at approximately 10:50 a.m. Moved by Mrs. Vaughan, seconded by Mr. Shober, approving Minute No. SB 11-7-13 dated November 7, 2013, as written. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Shober - Yes; Mrs. Vaughan - Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes. Motion carried unanimously. PUBLIC COMMENT None. FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION RECORDER OF DEEDS Temporary employee, $17.013/hour; create one Clerk Typist II position effective 12/16/13 through 1/3/14, to work on a special scanning project. The position will be funded by the Recorder of Deeds Record Improvement Fund and no County funds are required. Moved by Ms. Bardella, seconded by Mrs. Vaughan, approving the foregoing personnel request. Roll call vote taken: Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Shober — Yes; Mrs. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes. Motion carried. FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION (continued) Tax Revenue, temporary employee, $17.013/hour, create two Clerk Typist II positions effective 12/23/13 through 12/31/13, to work on a special scanning project. The position will be funded by the Recorder of Deeds Record Improvement Fund and no County funds are required. Moved by Mrs. Vaughan, seconded by Mr. Shober; approving the foregoing personnel request. Roll call vote taken: Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Shober — Yes; Mrs. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes. Motion carried. Memo of Understanding ratification, Children and Youth Services, Fiscal Technician I, $18.40/hour, create one temporary position effective 11/18/13. The temporary position will be eliminated effective at the end of the day on 1/31/14. Moved by Mrs. Vaughan, seconded by Mr. Shober; approving the foregoing personnel request. Roll call vote taken: Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Shober — Yes; Mrs. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes. Motion carried. LEAVES OF ABSENCES — November 7.2013 to November 20.2013 Chairman Maggi noted for the record the following leaves of absences: Kerri Banasick, Clerk Stenographer II, FMLA medical, 10/30/13 to 12/03/13 Joanne Hamilton, Correctional Officer I, FMLA medical, 11/01/13 to 11/17/13 MINUTE BOOK 131 BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA Heather McBride, Certified Nurses Aide, FMLA medical, 10/11/13 to 11/30/13 Alexis Reilly, Certified Nurses Aide, FMLA medical, 11/9/13 to 11/16/13 Dana Rose, LPN, intermittent leave for self, 11/8/13 to 1/31/14 Jannie Denman Simonelli, Medical Records Secretary, FMLA medical, 9/6/13 to 9/10/13 Jannie Denman Simonelli, Medical Records Secretary, FMLA medical, 10/4/13 to 10/8/13 Beatrice Zediker, Certified Nurses Aide, intermittent leave for self, 11/14/13 to 05/14/14 Chairman Maggi stated for the record, items noted during 2013 were incorporated into the Salary Book. It is the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2013 salary schedule book may be corrected administratively by Human Resources.
