Salary Board Minute No. SB 6-19-14 Washington County Commissioners
Washington, Pa., June 19, 2014
The Washington County Salary Board met in session in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse Square
Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of reconvening with the following members being present:
Commissioners Larry Maggi, Diana Irey Vaughan, Harlan G. Shober, Jr. and Controller Michael Namie. Also being
present: Solicitor J. Lynn DeHaven;Director of Administration Scott Fergus;Chief Clerk Mary Helicke; Administrative
Assistant Joyce Thornburg; Human Resources Director Kathleen Bali; Observer -Reporter representative Barbara Miller
,ind intern Joelle Smith; WJPA representative Jim Jefferson; and concerned citizen Frank Byrd.
Chairman Maggi called the meeting to order at approximately 10:40 a.m.
Moved by Mrs. Vaughan, seconded by Mr. Namie, approving Minute No. SB 6-5-14 dated
June 5, 2014, as written.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Shober - Yes; Mrs. Vaughan - Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.

FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION
CORRECTIONAL FACILITY
Captain, shift commander, $188.4193/day; Abolish two part-time positions effective 7/7/14.
Captain, shift commander, $48,989.00/year; Create two full time salaried positions effective 7/7/14.
Moved by Mrs. Vaughan; seconded by Mr. Nami, approving the foregoing personnel request.

Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Shober — Yes; Mrs. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes.
Motion carried.
LEAVES OF ABSENCES — Tune 5.2014 to June 18.2014
Chairman Maggi noted for the record the following leaves of absences:

Jennifer Spiker, Cook, FMLA, medical 06/09/14 to 06/23/14
Moved by Mrs. Vaughan, seconded by Mr. Shober, approving the foregoing personnel request.

Motion carried.
Chairman Maggi stated for the record items noted during 2014 were incorporated into the Salary Book. It is
the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2011 salary schedule book may be corrected
administratively by Human Resources.
There being no further business, Chairman Maggi declared the meeting recessed at approximately10:42 a.m.
