Salary Board Minute No. SB 8-14-14 Washington County Commissioners
Washington, Pa., August 14, 2014
The Washington County Salary Board met in session in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse
Square Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of reconvening with the following members
being present: Commissioners Larry Maggi, Diana Irey Vaughan, Harlan G. Shober, Jr. and Controller Michael
Namie. Also being present: Solicitor Mary Lyn Drewitz; Director of Administration Scott Fergus; Chief Clerk
Mary Helicke; Administrative Assistant Joyce Thornburg; Human Resources Director Kathleen Bali; Observer-
Reporrer representative Barbara Miller; WJPA representative Jim Jefferson; and concerned citizen Frank Byrd.
Chairman Maggi called the meeting to order at approximately 11:08 a.m.
Moved by Mrs. Vaughan, seconded by Mr. Namie, approving Minute No. SB-7-17-14 dated
July 11, 2014, as written.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Shober — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION
CHILDREN & YOUTH SERVICES
Administrative Assistant I, $39,143.23/year; abolish one vacant full time salaried position effective
8/14/14.
Clerical Supervisor I, $35,360.00/year; create one full time salaried position effective 8/14/14
TAX REVENUE
Temporary employee, $15.54/hour; extend employment for one vacant position through 11/28/14. This
position will work on special projects and will be funded by the Recorder of Deeds Records Improvement Fund.
No County funds are required.
Moved by Mrs. Vaughan; seconded by Mr. Namie, approving the foregoing personnel request.

Motion carried unanimously.
Chairman Maggi stated for the record, items noted during 2014 were incorporated in the Salary Book. It
is the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2014 salary schedule book may be corrected
administratively by Human Resources.
There being no further business, Chairman Maggi declared the meeting recessed at approximately
11:09 a.m.
