Washington County Prison Board
Washington, PA, June 15, 2011
The monthly meeting of the Washington County Prison Board was held in the Washington County Correctional
Facility, Cherry Way, Washington, Pennsylvania, with the following members being present: Commissioners Bracken
Burns and Diana Irey Vaughan; Deputy Controller Josh Hatfield; Sheriff Sam Romano and District Attorney Steve
Toprani. Absent being: Commissioner Larry Maggi. Also being present: Warden Joe Pelzer; Lynn DeHaven,
Solicitor; Mary Helicke, Chief Clerk; Linda Belcher, Administrative Assistant; Chuck Nicholls, Director Human
Resources; Joy Sprowls and JoAnn Metz, Commissioners' Office; Barbara Miller, Observer -Reporter and Jim
Jefferson, WJPA.
Vice -Chairman Burns called the meeting to order at approximately 11:30 a.m.
Vice -Chairman Burns asked if there were any corrections, additions or omissions to Minute No.5-P-11, dated
May 18, 2011.
Moved by Mrs. Irey Vaughan, seconded by Mr. Romano, that Minute No. 5-P-11 be approved as written.
Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye".

WARDEN'S REPORT
Warden Pelzer presented the following information to the Board:

Moved by Mrs. Irey Vaughan, seconded by Mr. Toprani, to accept the Warden's Report as per above. Motion
carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye".
BILLS
Deputy Controller Hatfield presented to the Board for their consideration and approval the bills for the month
of May in the amount of $56,198.85.
Moved by Mrs. Irey Vaughan, seconded by Mr. Hatfield, approving the bills for the month of May. Motion
carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". (See list of bills attached hereto and
made a part hereof.)

There being no further business, Vice -Chairman Burns declared the meeting adjourned at approximately
11:35 a.m.
