Washington County Prison Board
Washington, PA, March 14, 2012
The Washington County Prison Board was held in the Washington County Correctional Facility, West Cherry
Way, Washington, Pennsylvania, with the following members being present: Larry Maggi, Diana Irey Vaughan and
Harlan Shober; Commissioners; Michael Namie, Controller; Sam Romano, Sheriff and Gene Vittone, District
Attorney. Also being present: Joe Pelzer, Warden; Scott Fergus, Director of Administration; Lynn DeHaven,
Solicitor; Linda Belcher, Administrative Assistant; Marie Trossman, Sue Orrick and Joy Sprowls, Commissioner's
Office; Chuck Nicholls, Director of Human Resources; Tom Jess, Deputy Court Administrator; Barbara Miller,
Observer -Reporter.
Chairman Maggi called the meeting to order at approximately 11:30 a.m.
Chairman Maggi asked if there were any corrections, additions or omissions to Minute No. 2-P-12, each member
having received a copy.
Moved by Mrs. Irey Vaughan, seconded by Mr. Namie, that Minute No. 2-P-12 be approved as written. Motion
carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye".
PUBLIC COMMENTS
None
WARDEN'S REPORT
Warden Pelzer presented the following information to the Board:
Income from other units for the maintenance of nrisoners for February 2012
Administrative Fee $ 3,149.48
Social Security 400.00
Monthly Sub Total 3,549.48
Year to date GRAND TOTAL $ 6,166.72

Controller Namie presented to the Board for their consideration and approval the bills dated March 14th in the

Moved by Mr. Namie, seconded by Mr. Romano, approving the bills for the month of February. Motion

carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". (See list of bills attached hereto and
made a part hereof.)

None
At this time, Solicitor DeHaven requested an executive session to discuss potential litigation regarding the
Correctional Facility.
There being no further business, Chairman Maggi declared the meeting adjourned at approximately 12:15 p.m.
