E The meeting of the Washington County Prison Board was held in the 7th Floor Conference Room, Courthouse

aSquare, Washington, Pennsylvania, with the following members being present: Commissioners Larry Maggi, Diana
Vaughan and Harlan Shober; Controller Michael Namie; and Sheriff Samuel Romano. Also present: Warden John Temas;
21 Deputy Warden Edward Strawn; Major Donald Waugh; District Attorney Gene Vittone; Solicitor J. Lynn DeHaven;
0 Director of Administration Scott Fergus; Human Resources Director Chuck Nicholls; Chief Clerk Mary Helicke;
Administrative Assistant Joyce Thornburg; Observer Reporter representative Barbara Miller; WJPA representatives Jim
Jefferson and Nate Regotti.

Chairman Maggi called the meeting to order at approximately 11:36 a.m.
Chairman Maggi asked if there were any corrections, additions or omissions to Minute No. PB 4-17-13, each
member having received a copy.
It was moved by Mrs. Vaughan and seconded by Mr. Shober that Minute No. PB 4-17-13 be approved as written.
The motion was carried unanimously with the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye".
PUBLIC COMMENTS
None.
WARDEN'S REPORT
Warden Temas presented the following information to the Board:
Income from other units for the maintenance of prisoners for April 2013

PRISON BOARD WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA
Warden Temas recommended to the Board approval of a petty cash account in the amount of $100 for the
purpose of providing change to persons wishing to pay bond of an inmate. Bond is only accepted at the facility at those
times when the Clerk of Courts is closed. This account will be audited as part of the annual audit performed by the
Controller's office. Approval of the petty cash account is contingent upon approval at the Board of Commissioners
meeting to be held May 16, 2013, Minute No. 949.
It was moved by Mrs. Vaughan and seconded by Mr. Romano to approve the Warden's Report. The motion was
carried unanimously with the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye".
BILLS
Mr. Namie presented to the Board for their consideration and approval of bills dated May 15, 2013, in the
amount of $49,170.81. 0
It was moved by Mr. Namie and seconded by Mr. Romano to approve the bills dated May 15, 2013. The motion
carried unanimously with the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". (See list of bills attached hereto and
made a part hereof.)
OLD BUSINESS
None.
NEW BUSINESS
Mr. Namie reported that the audit for the period January 1 to December 31, 2012, of the Washington County
Correctional Facility was a clean audit with no findings and no comments.
There being no further business, Chairman Maggi declared the meeting adjourned at approximately 11:39 a.m.
