HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOMM - Meeting Minutes - PB 8-14-13 - 8-14-2013 - PRISON BOARDMINUTE PRISON BOARD WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA 0, z e LL a m a) a E _ cc 1-1 • 1 1 11 1 Minute No. PB 8-14-13 Washington County Prison Board Washington, Pa., August 14, 2013 The meeting of the Washington County Prison Board was held in the 7th Floor Conference Room, Courthouse Square, Washington, Pennsylvania, with the following members being present: Commissioners Larry Maggi, Diana Vaughan and Harlan Shober; Controller Mike Namie; and Sheriff Sam Romano. Also present: Warden John Temas; Solicitor J. Lynn DeHaven; Human Resources Director Chuck Nicholls; Chief Clerk Mary Helicke; Administrative Assistant Joyce Thornburg; Observer Reporter representative Barbara Miller; correction facility employees Major Chris Cain; Captain Mark Ochkie; and Correction Officer I David Coddington. Chairman Maggi called the meeting to order at approximately 11:38 a.m. Chairman Maggi asked if there were any corrections, additions or omissions to Minute No. PB 7-17-13, each member having received a copy. It was moved by Mrs. Vaughan and seconded by Mr. Namie that Minute No. PB 7-17-13 be approved as written. The motion was carried unanimously with the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". PUBLIC COMMENTS None. WARDEN'S REPORT Warden Temas presented the following information to the Board: Income from other units for the maintenance of prisoners for Iuly 2013 Administrative Fee $2,419.64 Social Security 400.00 Monthly Sub Total 2,819.64 Year-to-date Grand Total $21,854.04 ProLyram Fees and Room and Board Income for iuly 2013 Billed Collected Work Release $12,320.00 $12,311.00 Weekenders $1,350.00 $1,350.00 Turned over to Clerk of Courts (minus) -0- Adjustments made to billings (minus) -0- Monthly Sub Total $13,670.00 $13,661.00 Year-to-date Grand Total $168,995.10 $168,978.10 Status of prisoners confined at the end of lulv 2013 Males Females Total Full time 64 11 75 Work release 26 5 31 Weekend prisoners 6 2 8 Unsentenced prisoners awaiting sentencing and/or trial 182 40 222 Total Prisoners 278 58 336 Males Females Total Examinations performed by the physician 76 15 91 New commitments 12 Repeat patients 79 Medical Transports performed by the Sheriff 18 It was moved by Mrs. Vaughan and seconded by Mr. Romano to approve the Warden's Report. The motion was carried unanimously with the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". BILLS Mr. Namie presented to the Board for their consideration and approval the bills dated August 14, 2013, in the amount of $65,104.06. 404 MINUTE BOOK PRISON BOARD WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA Moved by Mr. Namie and seconded by Mrs. Vaughan to approve the bills dated August 14, 2013. The motion • carried unanimously with the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". (See list of bills attached hereto and made a part hereof.) OLD BUSINESS None. NEW BUSINESS None.
