Salary Board Minute No. SB 1-7-16 Washington County Commissioners
Washington, Pa., January 7, 2016
The Washington County Salary Board met in session in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse
Square Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of reconvening with the following
members being present: Commissioners Larry Maggi, Diana Irey Vaughan, Harlan G. Shober, Jr. and
Controller Mike Namie. Also being present: Director of Administration Scott Fergus; Solicitor J. Lynn
DeHaven; Chief Clerk Irene Reese; Deputy Chief Clerk Mary Helicke; Administrative Assistant Joyce
Thornburg; Human Resources Director Kathleen Bali; Finance Director Roger Metcalfe; WJPA
representative Jim Jefferson; Observer -Reporter representative Barbara Miller and concerned citizen Frank
Byrd.
Chairman Maggi called the meeting to order at approximately 10:26 a.m.
Chairman Maggi noted for the record to hold Minute No. SB-1-4-16, dated January 4, 2016, in
abeyance until the next Salary Board meeting to be held Thursday, January 21, 2016.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION
Maintenance, Interim Director of Buildings & Grounds, $52,335.98/year, create one full time salaried
position effective retroactive to 12/14/15. The position is to be abolished when a candidate is selected for
the currently vacant position of Director of Buildings & Grounds.
Moved by Mrs. Vaughan, seconded by Mr. Namie, approving the foregoing personnel request.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Shober — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
Chairman Maggi stated for the record, items noted during 2016 were incorporated into the Salary
Book. It is the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2016 salary schedule book
may be corrected administratively by Human Resources.
There being no further business, Chairman Maggi declared the meeting recessed at approximately
10:27 a.m.
