Salary Board Minute No. SB 2-18-16 Washington County Commissioners
Washington, Pa., February 18, 2016
The Washington County Salary Board met in session in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse
Square Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of reconvening with the following
members being present: Commissioners Diana Irey Vaughan and Harlan G. Shober, Jr.; Controller Mike
Namie; and absent is Commissioner Larry Maggi. Also being present: District Attorney Gene Vittone;
Director of Administration Scott Fergus; Solicitor J. Lynn DeHaven; Chief Clerk Irene Reese; Administrative
Assistant Joyce Thornburg; Human Resources Director Kathleen Bali; Observer -Reporter representative
Barbara Miller and concerned citizen Frank Byrd.
Vice Chairman Vaughan called the meeting to order at approximately 10:36 a.m.
Moved by Mr. Namie, seconded by Mr. Shober, approving Minute No. SB 2-4-16 dated
February 4, 2016, as written.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Shober - Yes; Mrs. Vaughan - Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION
DISTRICT ATTORNEY
Victim Advocate, $31,733/year; create one full-time salaried position effective 2/18/16. The position
is to be abolished when the grant for the position is no longer funded.
Moved by Mr. Vittone; seconded by Mr. Shober, approving the foregoing personnel request.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Vittone — Yes; Mr. Shober — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
CORRECTIONAL FACILITY
Maintenance Engineer, $48,933.87/year reduced to $46,366.32/year; reduction in annual salary for
one full-time salaried position effective 2/18/16.
Temporary Maintenance Engineer, $48,933.87/year; create one full-time salaried position effective
2/18/16. The position is to be abolished upon the retirement of incumbent.
CHILDREN & YOUTH SERVICES
Casework Supervisor, $55,452.88/year reduced to $46,173.60/year; reduction in annual salary for one
full-time salaried position effective 02/18/16.
Casework Supervisor, $52,269.67/year reduced to $46,173.60/year; reduction in annual salary for one
full-time salaried position effective 02/18/16.
Moved by Mr. Namie; seconded by Mr. Shober, approving the foregoing personnel request.

Moved by Mr. Namie, seconded by Mr. Shober, approving the remaining personnel requests found
on the For the Board's Consideration chart.

Motion carried unanimously.
Vice Chairman Vaughan stated for the record, items noted during 2016 were incorporated into the
Salary Book. It is the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2016 salary schedule
book may be corrected administratively by Human Resources.
There being no further business, Vice Chairman Vaughan declared the meeting recessed at
approximately 10:38 a.m.
