Salary Board Minute No. SB 11-17-16 Washington County Commissioners
Washington, Pa., November 17, 2016
The Washington County Salary Board met in session in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse
Square Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of reconvening with the following members
being present: Commissioners Larry Maggi, Diana Irey Vaughan and Harlan G. Shober, Jr.; Controller Mike
Namie. Also being present: Solicitor J. Lynn DeHaven; Director of Administration Scott Fergus; Chief Clerk
Cynthia B. Griffin; Administrative Assistant Joyce Thornburg; Human Resources Director Kathleen Bali;
Observer -Reporter representative Barbara Miller; WJPA representatives Bob Gregg and Carl Malin; Herald
Standard representative Steve Ferris and concerned citizen Frank Byrd.
Chairman Maggi called the meeting to order at approximately 10:27 a.m.
Moved by Mrs. Vaughan, seconded by Mr. Namie, approving Minute No. SB 11-3-16 dated
November 3, 2016, as written.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Shober — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Hatfield — Yes
Motion carried unanimously.
PUBLIC COMMENT

FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION
HEALTH CENTER
Nursing; Registered Nurse; $24.82/hour; abolish one part-time position effective 11/17/16.
Nursing; Licensed Practical Nurse; 90%-$19.90/hour; abolish one full-time union position effective
11/17/16.
Nursing; Registered Nurse; $24.82/hour to $29.73/hour (depending on years of experience); create one
full-time union position effective 11/17/16.
Moved by Mrs. Vaughan; seconded by Mr. Shober, approving the foregoing personnel request.

Mr. Shober — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Hatfield — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.

Chairman Maggi stated for the record, items noted during 2016 were incorporated into the Salary Book. It
is the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2016 salary schedule book may be corrected
administratively by Human Resources.
There being no further business, Chairman Maggi declared the meeting recessed at approximately
10:28 a.m.
