The Washington County Salary Board met in session in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse
Square Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of reconvening with the following members
being present: Commissioners Larry Maggi, Diana Irey Vaughan and Harlan G. Shober, Jr.; Deputy Controller
Josh Hatfield. Also being present: Solicitor J. Lynn DeHaven; Chief Clerk Cynthia B. Griffin; Administrative
Assistant Joyce Thornburg; Human Resources Director Kathleen Bali; Observer -Reporter representative Barbara
Miller; Herald Standard representative Pat Cloonan and concerned citizen Frank Byrd.
Chairman Maggi called the meeting to order at approximately 11:04 a.m.
Moved by Mrs. Vaughan, seconded by Mr. Hatfield, approving Minute No. SB 12-1-16 dated
December 1, 2016, as written.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Shober — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Hatfield — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None
FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION
COURTS
Mrs. Vaughan presented to the board on behalf of President Judge Emery, Booking Center; Booking
Center Monitor; $13.9105/hour reduced to $12.36/hour; reduction in salary for one vacant part-time salaried
position effective 1/9/17.
Mrs. Vaughan presented to the board on behalf of District Attorney Eugene Vittone, District Attorney;
Victim Advocate; $31,733.00/year; create one full-time salaried position effective 1/13/17. The position is to be
abolished when the grant for the position is no longer funded.
Moved by Mrs. Vaughan; seconded by Mr. Shober, approving the foregoing personnel request.

Mr. Shober — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Hatfield — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
HEALTH CENTER
Nursing Administration; RN Clinical Coordinator; $56,650.00/year reduced to $55,000.00/year; reduction
in annual salary for one vacant full-time salaried position effective retroactive to 12/11/16.
Nursing Administration; RN Clinical Coordinator; $56,650.01/year reduced to $55,000.00/year; reduction
in annual salary for one vacant part-time salaried position effective 12/15/16.
Moved by Mrs. Vaughan; seconded by Mr. Hatfield, approving the foregoing personnel request.

Chairman Maggi stated for the record, items noted during 2016 were incorporated into the Salary Book. It
is the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2016 salary schedule book may be corrected
administratively by Human Resources.
There being no further business, Chairman Maggi declared the meeting was adjourned at approximately
11:05 a.m.
