HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOMM - Meeting Minutes - SB 3-16-17 - 3-16-2017 - SALARY223 MINUTE BOOK SALARY BOARD WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLANIA [MR LIMITED E1316649LD Salary Board Minute No. SB 3-16-17 Washington County Commissioners Washington, Pa., March 16, 2017 The Washington County Salary Board met in session in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse Square Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of reconvening with the following members being present: Commissioners Larry Maggi, Diana Irey Vaughan and Harlan G. Shober, Jr.; Controller Mike Namie. Also being present: Solicitor J. Lynn DeHaven; Director of Administration Scott Fergus; Chief Clerk Cynthia B. Griffin; Administrative Assistant Joyce Thornburg; Executive Secretary Randi Marodi; Human Resources Director Kathleen Bali; Finance Director Josh Hatfield; District Attorney Gene Vittone; Clerk of Courts Frank Scandale; Observer -Reporter representative Barb Miller; Herald Standard representative Pat Cloonan and concerned citizens Frank Byrd and health center employees. Chairman Maggi called the meeting to order at approximately 10:40 a.m. Moved by Mrs. Vaughan, seconded by Mr. Namie, approving Minute No. SB 2-16-17 dated February 16, 2017 as written. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Shober — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes. Motion carried unanimously. PUBLIC COMMENT None. FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION COURTS Mrs. Vaughan presented to the board on behalf of President Judge Emery; $500; approve payment to any employee who teaches and completed 12.5 hour sessions of the Alcohol Highway Safety School effective retroactive to 1/7/17. The payment would be treated as W-2 income; however, would propose that it be exempt from any pension calculation. Moved by Mrs. Vaughan; seconded by Mr. Shober, approving the foregoing personnel request. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Shober — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes. Motion carried unanimously. DISTRICT ATTORNEY District Attorney Vittone presented to the board, Assistant District Attorney; $ 60,748. 00 /year; create one full-time union position effective 3/16/17. District Attorney Vittone presented to the board, Legal Secretary; Pay Grade 6-90%-$17.532/hour; create one full-time union position effective 3/16/17. Moved by Mr. Vittone; seconded by Mrs. Vaughan, approving the foregoing personnel request. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Shober — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes.
