Washington, Pa., August 17, 2017
The Washington County Salary Board met in session in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse
Square Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of reconvening with the following
members being present: Commissioners Diana Irey Vaughan and Harlan G. Shober, Jr.; absent is
Commissioner Larry Maggi. Also being present: Solicitor J. Lynn DeHaven; Director of Administration
Scott Fergus; Chief Clerk Cynthia B. Griffin; Administrative Assistant Joyce Thornburg; Executive Secretary
Joy Orndoff; Human Resources Director Kathleen Bali; Finance Director Josh Hatfield; Treasurer Francis
King; Warden Ed Strawn and Observer -Reporter representative Barb Miller.
Vice Chairman Irey Vaughan called the meeting to order at approximately 10:50 a.m.
Moved by Mr. Shober, seconded by Mr. Namie, approving Minute.No. SB 7-20-17 dated
July 20, 2017 as written.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Shober — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.

FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION
CHILDREN & YOUTH SERVICES
Children & Youth Services, Casework Supervisor; $57,496.64/year reduced to $ 5 5,000.00 /year;
reduction in annual salary for one (1) vacant full-time salaried position effective 8/17/17.
Children & Youth Services, Deputy Administrator; $72,713.81/year increased to $75,000.00/year;
increase in annual salary for one (1) vacant full-time salaried position effective 8/17/17.
CHILD CARE INFORMATION SERVICES
Child Care Information Services, Case Specialist; $43,566.02/year; reduced to $33,731.00/year;
reduction in annual salary for one (1) vacant full-time salaried position effective 8/17/17.
Child Care Information Services, Information Specialist; $33,212.53/year; abolish one (1) full-time
salaried position effective 8/17/17.
Child Care Information Services, Client/Provider Coordinator; $35,785.20/year; create one (1) full-
time salaried position effective 8/17/17.
Moved by Mr. Namie; seconded by Mr. Shober, approving the foregoing personnel request.

Vice Chairman Irey Vaughan stated for the record, items noted during 2017 were incorporated into
the Salary Book. It is the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2017 salary schedule
book may be corrected administratively by Human Resources.
There being no further business, Vice Chairman Irey Vaughan declared the meeting recessed at
approximately 10:51 a.m.
