Minute No. PB 6-6-18 June 6, 2018
The meeting of the Washington County Prison Board was held in the It" floor conference
room, Courthouse Square, Washington, Pennsylvania, with the following members being present:
Commissioners Larry Maggi and Harlan G. Shober, Jr.; Controller Mike Namie; Sheriff Sam Romano;
and District Attorney Gene Vittone. Absent from the meeting were Commissioner Diana Irey Vaughan
and Judge John DiSalle. Also present: Warden Ed Strawn; Solicitor J. Lynn DeHaven; Finance Director
Joshua Hatfield; Human Resources Acting Director Andrea Johnston; Deputy Controller Cathy Sams;
Chief Clerk Cindy Griffin; Administrative Assistant Joyce Thornburg; and Observer -Reporter
representative Barbara Miller.
Mr. Maggi called the meeting to order at approximately 11:30 a.m.
Mr. Maggi asked if there were any corrections, additions or omissions to Minute
No. PB 5-16-18, dated May 16, 2018, each member having received a copy.
It was moved by Mr. Namie and seconded by Mr. Shober that Minute No. PB 5-16-18, be
approved. The motion was carried unanimously with the Board signifying their approval by stating
"Aye".
PUBLIC COMMENTS
None.
WARDEN'S REPORT
Warden Strawn recommended to the Board to approve his recommendation for the vacant
Major's position to Captain David Coddington. Captain Coddington has been with the facility for six
years.
It was moved by Mr. Shober and seconded by Mr. Vittone, approving the Warden's Report as
stated above. The motion was carried unanimously with the Board signifying their approval by
stating "Aye".

None.
OLD BUSINESS
None.
NEW BUSINESS
Mr. DeHaven called an executive session to discuss personnel at approximately 11:31 a.m.
Mr. Maggi reconvened the meeting at approximately 11:55 a.m. following the executive
session.
There being no further business, Chairman Maggi declared the meeting adjourned at
approximately 11:56 a.m.
