Salary Board Minute No. SB 6-21-18 June 21, 2018
The Washington County Salary Board met in session in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse Square
Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of reconvening with the following members
being present: Commissioners Diana Irey Vaughan; Harlan G. Shober, Jr.; and Deputy Controller Cathy
Sams. Absent are Commissioner Larry Maggi and Controller Mike Namie. Also being present: Solicitor J.
Lynn DeHaven; Director of Administration Scott Fergus; Chief Clerk Cynthia B. Griffin; Administrative
Assistant Joyce Thornburg; Executive Secretary Joy Orndoff; Acting Human Resources Director Andrea
Johnston; Finance Director Josh Hatfield.
Vice Chairman Vaughan called the meeting to order at approximately 10:18 a.m.
Moved by Mr. Shober, seconded by Mrs. Vaughan, approving Minute No. SB 6-6-18 dated
June 6, 2018 as written.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Shober — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mrs. Sams — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION
CHILDREN & YOUTH SERVICES
Children & Youth Services, Attorney; $74,262.99/year reduced to $74,000.00/year; reduction in
annual salary for one (1) full-time salaried position effective 7/23/18.
Moved by Mr. Shober; seconded by Mrs. Sams, approving the foregoing personnel request.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Shober — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mrs. Sams — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
LEAVE OF ABSENCE —June 6.2018 to June 20.2018
Vice Chairman Vaughan noted for the record the following leave of absence:
Billie Jo Mance, Custodial Worker, FMLA medical, 05/21/18 to 06/29/18
Vice Chairman Vaughan stated for the record, items noted during 2018 were incorporated into the
Salary Book. It is the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2018 salary schedule
book may be corrected administratively by Human Resources.
There being no further business, Vice Chairman Vaughan declared the meeting recessed at
approximately 10:20 a.m.
