Salary Board Minute No. SB 11-15-18 November 15, 2018
The Washington County Salary Board met in session in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse Square
Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of reconvening with the following members
being present: Commissioners Larry Maggi, Diana Irey Vaughan and Harlan G. Shober, Jr.; Controller Mike
Namie. Also being present: Solicitor J. Lynn DeHaven; Finance Director Josh Hatfield; Chief Clerk Cynthia
B. Griffin; Human Resources Acting Director Andrea Johnston; Administrative Assistant Joyce Thornburg;
and Observer -Reporter representative Barbara Miller.
Chairman Maggi called the meeting to order at approximately 10:29 a.m.
Moved by Mrs. Vaughan, seconded by Mr. Namie, approving Minute No. SB 11-1-18 dated
November 1, 2018 as written.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Shober — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Namie—, Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION
COURTS
Mrs. Vaughan presented to the board on behalf of President Judge Emery, Domestic Relations; DRS
Training Coordinator; $45,667.05/year reduced to $40,500.00/year; reduction in annual salary for one vacant
full-time salaried position effective 11/15/18.
Moved by Mrs. Vaughan; seconded by Mr. Shober, approving the foregoing personnel request.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Shober — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
LEAVES OF ABSENCES —November 1.2018 to November 14.2018
Chairman Maggi noted for the record the following leaves of absences:
Scott Fergus, Director of Administration, Intermittent leave for self, 11/13/18 to 11/13/19
Amanda Hornak, Asst. Deputy -Recorder of Deeds, FMLA maternity, 11/12/18 to 02/04/19
David Rundquist, Child Custody Conference Officer, FMLA medical, 11 /08/18 to 11 /21 /18
Amanda Victor, Clerk II, FMLA maternity, 11/12/18 to 12/31/18
Chairman Maggi stated for the record, items noted during 2018 were incorporated into the Salary
Book. It is the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2018 salary schedule book
may be corrected administratively by Human Resources.
There being no further business, Chairman Maggi declared the meeting recessed at approximately
10:30 a.m.
