Salary Board Minute No. SB 1-16-19 Washington, Pa., January 16, 2019
The Washington County Salary Board met in session in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse
Square Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of reconvening with the following
members being present: Commissioners Larry Maggi, Diana Irey Vaughan, Harlan G. Shober, Jr., and
Controller Mike Namie. Also being present: Solicitor J. Lynn DeHaven; Director of Administration Scott
Fergus; Chief Clerk Cynthia Griffin; Administrative Assistant Joyce Thornburg; Executive Secretaries Joy
Orndoff, Marie Trossman and Randi Marodi; Human Resources Acting Director Andrea Johnston; Finance
Director Josh Hatfield; Treasurer Francis King and Observer -Reporter representative Barbara Miller.
Chairman Maggi called the meeting to order at approximately 2:15 p.m.
Moved by Mrs. Vaughan, seconded by Mr. Namie, approving Minute No. SB 1-7-19 dated
January 7, 2019, as written.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Shober — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION
COURTS
Mrs. Vaughan presented to the board on behalf of President Judge Emery, Domestic Relations, Legal
Assistant, $39,607.00/year reduced to $36,484.66/year; reduction in annual salary for one vacant full-time
salaried position effective 1/16/19.
Mrs. Vaughan presented to the board on behalf of President Judge Emery, Juvenile Probation, Site
Based Monitor, $18.70/hour; reduction in salary by 3%, recently approved through the Salary Board
Organization Meeting on 1/7/19, effective retroactive to 1/1/19 to be paid at a drily rate. Correction to be
made administratively by Human Resources
Mrs. Vaughan presented to the board on behalf of President Judge Emery, Juvenile Probation, Lead
Site Based Monitor, $19.80/hour; reduction in salary by 3%, recently approved through the Salary Board
Organization Meeting on 1/7/19, effective retroactive to 1/1/19 to be paid at a daily rate. Correction to be
made administratively by Human Resources.
Moved by Mrs. Vaughan; seconded by Mr. Shober, approving the foregoing personnel request.

Motion carried unanimously.
LEAVES OF ABSENCES —Tanuary 7.2019 to January 15.2019
Chairman Maggi noted for the record the following leaves of absences:

Janice Taper, MH/MR Administrator, FMLA medical, 01/10/19 to 04/04/19

Chairman Maggi stated for the record, items noted during 2019 were incorporated into the Salary
Book. It is the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2019 salary schedule book
may be corrected administratively by Human Resources.
There being no further business, Chairman Maggi declared the meeting recessed at approximately
2:16 p.m.
