Salary Board Minute No. SB 4-4-19 April 4, 2019
The Washington County Salary Board met in session in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse
Square Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of reconvening with the following
members being present: Commissioners Larry Maggi, Diana Irey Vaughan, Harlan G. Shober, Jr. and
Controller Mike Namie. Also being present: Solicitor J. Lynn DeHaven; Chief Clerk Cynthia Griffin;
Administrative Assistant Joyce Thornburg; Executive Secretary Joy Orndoff; Finance Director Josh Hatfield;
Human Resources Director Shelli Arnold; and Observer -Reporter Publishing Co. representative Barbara
Miller.
Chairman Maggi called the meeting to order at approximately 10:47 a.m.
Moved by Mrs. Vaughan, seconded by Mr. Namie, approving Minute No. SB 3-21-19 dated
March 21, 2019, as written.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Shober — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION
BUILDING AND GROUNDS
Maintenance, Painter II; Pay Grade 6 — 90% - $18.423; abolish one vacant full time union position
effective 4/4/19.
Maintenance, Plumber II; Pay Grade 6 — 90% - $18.423; abolish one full time union position effective
4/4/19.
Maintenance, Maintenance Worker II; Pay Grade 6 — 90% - $18.423; create two full time union
position effective 4/4/19.
CHILDREN AND YOUTH SERVICES
Children & Youth, Attorney; $74,000.00/year; create one full time salaried position effective 4/4/19.
FINANCE
Finance, Part-time Finance Director; $49.07/hour; create one temporary part time position
effective 4/10/19. The position will be abolished when it is vacated.
Moved by Mrs. Vaughan; seconded by Mr. Shober, approving the foregoing personnel request.

LEAVES OF ABSENCES —March 21.2019 to April 3.2019
Chairman Maggi noted for the record the following leaves of absences:
Shelley Karl, Prosecution Coordinator, FMLA medical, 03/25/19 to 05/06/19
Chairman Maggi stated for the record, items noted during 2019 were incorporated into the Salary
Book. It is the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2019 salary schedule book
may be corrected administratively by Human Resources.
There being no further business, Chairman Maggi declared the meeting recessed at approximately
10:48 a.m.
