Salary Board Minute No. SB 4-18-19 Washington County Commissioners
Washington, Pa., April 18, 2019
The Washington County Salary Board met in session in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse
Square Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of reconvening with the following
members being present: Commissioners Larry Maggi, Diana Irey Vaughan, Harlan G. Shober, Jr. and
Controller Mike Namie. Also being present: Director of Administration Scott Fergus; Chief Clerk Cynthia
Griffin; Administrative Assistant Joyce Thornburg; Executive Secretary Randi Marodi; Finance Director Josh
Hatfield; Human Resources Director Shelli Arnold; Sheriff Deputy Ryan McWreath and Observer -Reporter
Publishing Co. representative Barbara Miller.
Chairman Maggi called the meeting to order at approximately 10:23 a.m.
Moved by Mrs. Vaughan, seconded by Mr. Namie, approving Minute No. SB 4-4-19 dated
April 4, 2019, as written.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Shober — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION
CHILDREN AND YOUTH SERVICES
Children & Youth, Casework Manager; $68,958.50/year reduced to $65,000.00/year; reduction in
annual salary for two (2) full-time salaried positions effective 4/22/19.
ELECTIONS
Elections, Assistant Director of Elections; $47,740.50/year reduced to $47,000.00/year; reduction in
annual salary for one (1) full-time salaried position effective 4/18/19.
FINANCE
Finance, Part-time Finance Director; $49.07/hour; abolish one (1) temporary part-time position
effective 4/18/19
Moved by Mr. Namie; seconded by Mrs. Vaughan, approving the foregoing personnel request.

Mt. Shober — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Name - Yea.
Motion carried unanimously.
LEAVES OF ABSENCES April 4.2019 to April 17.2019
Chairman Maggi noted for the record the following leaves of absences:
Melvin Gray, Correctional Officer I, Intermittent leave for self, 04/09/19 to 04/09/20
Jon Tustin, Correctional Officer I, Intermittent leave for self, 04/11/19 to 04/11/20

Chairman Maggi stated for the record, items noted during 2019 were incorporated into the Salary
Book. It is the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2019 salary schedule book
may be corrected administratively by Human Resources.
There being no further business, Chairman Maggi declared the meeting recessed at approximately
10:24 a.m.
