Salary Board Minute No. SB 5-16-19 Washington County Commissioners
Washington, Pa., May 16, 2019
The Washington County Salary Board met in session in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse
Square Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of reconvening with the following
members being present: Commissioners Larry Maggi, Diana Irey Vaughan, Harlan G. Shober, Jr. and
Controller Mike Namie. Also being present: Director of Administration Scott Fergus; Chief Clerk Cynthia
Griffin; Administrative Assistant Joyce Thornburg; Treasurer Francis King; Finance Director Josh Hatfield;
Human Resources Director Shelli Arnold; Marquette Associates representatives Lee Martin and Sam Frymier
and Observer -Reporter Publishing Co. representative Barbara Miller.
Chairman Maggi called the meeting to order at approximately 10:26 a.m.
Moved by Mrs. Vaughan, seconded by Mr. Namie, approving Minute No. SB 5-2-19 dated
May 2, 2019, as written.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Shober — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION
COURTS
Mrs. Vaughan presented to the board on behalf of President Judge Emery, Adult Probation,
Probation Monitor; $34,035.33/year; abolish one (1) full-time salaried position effective 5/16/19.
Mrs. Vaughan presented to the board on behalf of President Judge Emery, Adult Probation, Lab
Manager; $41,000.00/year; create one (1) full-time salaried position effective 5/16/19.
CONTROLLER
Mr. Namie presented to the board, Controller, Auditor; $47,533.62/year reduced to $42,500.00/year;
reduction in annual salary for one (1) full-time salaried position effective 5/16/19.
Moved by Mr. Namie; seconded by Mrs. Vaughan, approving the foregoing personnel request.

Motion carried unanimously.
JAIL ADMINISTRATION
Jail Administration, Inmate Accounts Supervisor; $165.6602/day (equivalent to $43,071.65/year);
create one (1) temporary full-time position effective 5/16/19. The position will be abolished on/before
6/1/19.
Moved by Mrs. Vaughan; seconded by Mr. Shober, approving the foregoing personnel request.

LEAVES OF ABSENCES —May 2.2019 to May 15. 2019
Chairman Maggi noted for the record the following leaves of absences:
Cheryl McGavitt, RN Supervisor, FMLA medical, 05/10/19 to 08/02/19
Chairman Maggi stated for the record, items noted during 2019 were incorporated into the Salary
Book. It is the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2019 salary schedule book
may be corrected administratively by Human Resources.
There being no further business, Chairman Maggi declared the meeting recessed at approximately
10:28 a.m.
