Deputy Warden Poland reported a population of 107 prisoners with 5 federal

now pays $27.00 a day for their prisoners that are in the Washington County Jail.
Mr. Poland stated that there has been some problems in the food situation
:due to the Jail population going up and down. Discussion followed. Controller
Stache explained that when the monthly purchase order system was set up, it was
to be a drawdown against a purchase order; in other words, delivery dates could
be every other day. Mr. Stache further stated that this system was designed to
,smooth things out instead of the Jail personnel having to go to the Purchasing
Office every two days in order to requisition supplies.
Mr. Poland reported that the lamps (bulbs) that were ordered for the out-
side of the Jail were the wrong ones; new ones have been re -ordered.
Mr. Poland advised the Board that Gandy Interval had quoted a price of
$250.00 - $300.00 to repair the screens at the Jail. The work has been complet-
ed but at a slightly larger amount - approximately $650.00
Mr. Poland brought up the matter of a possible problem of overcrowding at
the Jail which may arise due to the large population and Court coming up in
September. Discussion followed. Mr. Gilmore suggested that the Prison Board
send a memo to Judge Sweet informing the Courts of this situation.
Moved by Mr. Mascara, seconded by air. Gilmore, approving payment of the
