HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOMM - Meeting Minutes - 13-P - 12-10-1980 - PRISON BOARDMINUTE B❑❑ K PRISON BOARD WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA Minute No. 13-P Washington, PA, December 10, 1980 The monthly meeting of the Prison Board of the County of Washington met in the Commissioners' Conference Room at 11:35 a.m. with the following members being present: Commissioners Gilmore and Mascara, Sheriff Fazzoni and Controller Stache. Absent being: Commissioner Paluso, Judge Sweet and District Attorney Bigi. Also being present:. Chief Clerk Dallatore; Administra-` tive Assistant Davis; Warden Taylor; Linda Hands, Secretary. Chairman Fazzoni called the meeting to order and asked if there were any corrections, additions or omissions to Minute No. 12-P each member having received a copy. Moved by Mr. Stache, seconded by Mr. Gilmore, that Minute No. 12-P be approved as read. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Stache - Yes; Mr. Gilmore - Yes; Mr. Mascara-- Yes; Mr. Fazzoni - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Mr. Mascara stated that beginning next year, in order to cut down costs, there will be a more sophisticated purchasing arrangement throughout the County. We will be purchasing through a bulk operation. He requested the Warden to cooperate with Mr. Brady in ordering supplies for the Jail. Controller Stache presented the bills for the month of November for the Board's consideration and approval. Moved by Mr. Gilmore, seconded by Mr. Stache approving the payment of bills for the month of November. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Stache - Yes; Mr. Gilmore - Yes; Mr. Mascara- Yes; Mr. Fazzoni - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Warden's Report: Warden Taylor stated that the Jail population is 85,; there are Federal prisoners, 1 prisoner from Allegheny County and 3 females from Indiana. County. Warden Taylor also stated that the Jail employees are back to work and that everything is under control. The work schedule has been changed to a 5 and 2 work day schedule which means that they would work 5 days and be off 2 days. Warden Taylor also stated that there will be no overtime. (Some discussion was held). 79 MINUTE BOOK PRISON BOARD WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA Warden Taylor stated that he received a request from the Lehigh County Warden to keep some of his prisoners due to some renovation work that is being done in their Jail. Warden Taylor suggested that we charge $30.00 a day for each prisoner. The Board members felt that this was a reasonable rate. Warden Taylor informed the Board that the plumbers have begun the work over at the Jail. Meeting adjourned at 11:50 a.m..
