HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOMM - Meeting Minutes - 10-P - 10-8-1980 - PRISON BOARD74 MINUTE BOOK PRISON BOARD WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA Minute No. 10-P Washington, PA., October 8, 1980 The monthly meeting of the Prison Board of the County of Washington met in the Commissioners* Conference Room at 11:30 a.m. with the following members being present: Commissioners Paluso and Gilmore, Controller Stache, Sheriff Fazzoni and District Attorney Bigi. Absent being: Commissioner Mascara' and Judge Sweet. Also being present: Chief Clerk Dallatore, Administrative Assistant Davis; Warden Taylor, Linda Hands, Secretary; Bob Robertson, Observer Reporter, Chairman called the meeting to order and asked if there were any corrections, additions or omissions to Minute No. 9-P, each member having re- ceived a copy. Moved by Mr. Gilmore, seconded by Mr. Stache, that Minute No. 9-P be approved as read. Motion_ carried unanimously by vote cast by the Board signifying their approval by� stating **Aye . Warden's Report: Warden Taylor stated that the Jail population is 97, the lowest in 35 days but still close to full capacity. There are five women present, three of which are from Montgomery County. Warden Taylor reported that the Federal Inspectors recommended that some physical improvements be made to the Jail in order for us to continue to maintain federal prisoners. The work would include repair of damaged plumbing, new locks for doors., not included in the larges�cale replacement of locks which took place some months ago and a sliding tray inside the Jail entrance for law enforcement officers, to check their guns. Warden Taylor noted that there was no deadline given for this compliance. The Board directed the Warden to coordinate these improvements with Mr. Brady, Property & Supplies Director. (A brief discussion was heldl. Sheriff Fazzoni announced that the next Prison Board meeting will be held in the Jail for regulation purposes. Controller Stache presented the bills for the month of September for the Boards consideration and approval. Moved by Mr. Gilmore, seconded by Mr. Stache, approving the payment of bills for the month of September.
